Wouldn't it be cool if everyone donated and then came here and posted? I guess I'm second. Let's add up the total tally of Clutch BBS givers....however little or large. I gave $150,000.00....I mean....$150.00 dollars . What'd you do? Anything? Pretty good show....Clapton is on now. Surf
Man...."THE WHO" rocks my world. They came in to this show and kicked some major boot-ay!!!! I hadn't seem them in a while before tonight. I had forgotten how "The Who" can bring out the best in a crowd! Everyone is freaking rocking their butts off! Even John Kusak is over there rocking out in the audience. Sweet. Nice to see NY's finest enjoy a night of entertainment. Oh...and when Meg Ryan came out with a firefighter victim's family to talk about that tragedy and the way the crowd responded....very emotional. The show continues...it's getting better as it goes!!!!!!!! Music is good medicine for me(ill) and America. When "The Who" started rocking...I was literally jumping up and down there for a minute. Ahh....I digress. Surf
Man...a NY firefighter just gave a speech and said Osama could kiss MY IRISH ASS. Then, he took off his hat and said where he lived and this is my face....BIYATCH!!!!!!!!!!! Then, the crowd was chanting "USA!" "USA!" "USA!" Wooooooo!!!!!!!! Surf
surfguy -- i think that mean firefighter was just being insensitive. that's clearly no way to reach peace with osama. did that guy ever stop to think about osama's feelings?? did he ever to stop to wonder why osama did what he did?? i bet he supports the bombing in afghanistan too!!! sorry...i'd like to finish my thoughts but i just had a bran muffin and some really strong coffee...i need to go and test out my osama bin laden toilet paper now! take care....
David Bowie started off the show really well. He accompanied himself on a small keyboard to Paul Simon's "America." Very moving. The Who moved in a more basic level...they ROCK! I thought Macy Gray and Mick & Keith were great, as well. The documentary films have been great, too. Ken Burns is on now!
Did anyone catch Hillary Clinton getting the boo birds? Why did they boo her? Was it because she can't put her petty differences with our President aside in a time of tragedy? I recall her acting like a stupid snob at the state of the union speech just after the WTC/Pentagon/air tragedy. She was gingerly clapping and appearing downright rude. I think she is taking alot of flack over her behavior. She needs to work on her image. Bill came out just after her and I thought he was going to get booed as well but he didn't. Hillary got booed pretty good, though. Surf
Hillary's support of the Palestinians is probably particularly annoying to New York, a city with a huge Jewish population...who by the way was just attacked by Islamic extremists who claim that US policy towards Palestinians was partly their motivation. Hillary's little hug and kiss with Arafat's wife was a real winner for her! Hillary is the very definition of smug. Chris Baker on 950AM said it perfectly once...her voice and the look on her face never changes...if something is great or if something is tragic, her expression and her tone never changes...it's like she's a robot or a clone or something. Interestingly enough, when asked on a Sunday morning show once whether or not she could envision a scenario whereby we'd have to duplicate the rounding up of Japanese with Arabs she did not deny the possibility..she said something like, "we'd have to look at that down the road" ... not an exact quote (sorry)..but I was shocked she didn't give an adamant "NO!"
Anybody who missed this the first time around gets a second chance. It will be shown on CBS on Wednesday night Oct. 31 Worth checking out.
I second BobFinn's advice.....it is well worth checking out. What a show! (the CBS re-airing can't touch all of the great moments of the six hour live concert thought) The cd is due out sometime in November.......
