Yep, that is right, and number 1 in point differential at +8 ppg too They are still struggling on offense to find their identity and Tmac is still looking around for his confidence, but.....their defense is carrying the load. Chuck Hayes is a big reason for that, let's hope he is ok as Howard will get torched by other teams PFs. I love how this team is playing, sharing the basketball, knocking down big shots, and what can you say about the big fella, he is just outstanding. JVG may be working in the offense but his defense is in mid season form. 5-2 baby, bring on dem spurs. DD
Also, They failed to log Yao's offensive rebound, he is listed at 14 rebounds, but he really had 15......anyone know how we can get Yao his lost rebound? DD
http://www.nba.com/webAction?action.../email_us/email_form_041027.jsp&surveyId=1152 I believe Mark Cuban frequently uses this when he's unhappy about the refs. But it may just work for the score keepers too... Warning! Use at own risk! Complaining may result in fines up to $10,000.
Yeah, that was BS. He grabs the ball and throws it at the basket, how is that not a rebound? And they sure as hell better have not given him a TO on that. Not to mention the fact that he was fouled.
I loved seeing TMac control the offense at the end of the game. Howard even looked good after Hayes went down, but I'm thinking Novak might be unleashed for good or bad if Hayes can't come back.
Was Padgett or Novak playing the garbage minutes tonight. I think Padgett might have an egde on Novak in that he had more beer nights with JVG on the road.
Any and all scrub on Heat was abusing Howard. It was an automatic 2 points. If Juwan gets majority of minutes against SA, most likely, Oberto will kill him on the boards and hustly points. If Juwan has to guard Duncan then....Juwan might as well tear himself a new one tommorow night and lube it up overnight.
I think the team is nowhere near as efficient as it is going to be on the offensive end, but on defense the Rockets are playing very well. Howard for Hayes though would be a MAJOR downgrade, especially with Tim Duncan coming up on Tuesday. Any official word on Hayes? DD
Battier, Hayes, Snyder, Alston, Head, Tmac, Mutombo, Yao, even Wells have all been great on the defensive end.
Other then our problems with penetrating PGs, the team is looking good. And V-Span could help a LOT with that problem. Teams with guards that penetrate cause the Rocks a lot of problems....ala Williams with Utah and Paul with the Hornets... The Rocks use of a zone is a nice change of pace this year and helps mask Alston's slow lateral movement. DD
I'm constantly surprised how bad we are with the small PG's. I just don't know why Alston or Head can't do better. They may not be lightning fast, but they aren't exactly slow either.
From the preseason thread: http://bbs.clutchfans.com/showthread.php?t=118840&page=2&pp=20 I also hoped in the next page that Hayes would get more time than JHo...and happily he has been doing so, but too bad for the injury now...this is where I hope a fit Bonzi would take JHo's minutes. I like it when I think good things about the Rockets and they come true...well at least statistically, and at least for the time being.
you know thats great because the defense kept the rockets in the game today in the first 3 quarters and when the offense starting clicking it was over. you know whats REALLY refreshing to see is mutiple players in double figures. Tonight there was four with rafer, chuck and snyder with 8,7,7 respectively. The balanced scoring load i think makes this team a whole lot more dangerous since everyone on the floor is a threat to score. great to see. Two years ago after tmac, yao and mike james you werent really sure if you would get another guy in double figures. Now it seems every night there are like 4-6 guys in double figures. beautiful.
Exactly and this is all with tmac in a scoring slump and bonzi not playing seiorusly I dont care if tmac scores only 20pts a game as long as he is hitting his shots at 50% that will satisfy me greatly i Hope he works on his shots
Duncan and Wallace coming up. If Yao can continue to put up nice numbers for two games, we could be headed for an 11-game winning streak. We shouldn't slip up against San Antonio or Chicago. We also need T-Mac to improve. I think Bonzi will join us an a week or two as well, which should help the bench.
