http://www.nba.com/nuggets/news/nuggets_trade_20pick_062508.html Is that 2 years in a row with no picks?
Maybe down to 25.I don't know if he would be the right guy for the Rockets, but he does look better than Brooks to me. I do think he telegraphs his passes at times which is not good.
this sucks. maybe we can find a taker for chalmers/head package... or take calmers then find a deal for brooks/head package? our only hope (if we're going to keep the pick and hope for someone decent) is if seattle drafts small at #4 then big at #24. if it's the other way around, they will probably take a wing player with #24 and we'd be screwed into a trade.
I thought it was against NBA rules to trade your 1st rd pick in consecutive years? That way if a new owner/GM ever came in they wouldn't be screwed by the previous owner who potentially could have traded 5yrs worth of 1st rounders.
I'll be shocked if one of these is not available at our pick: Jason Thompson Mario Chalmers Chris Douglas-Roberts I'd take any of those 3 - probably leaning towards Thompson at this stage
The way the draft has been shaping up over the past few days, it now looks like Mario Chalmers will be gone before the 20th pick. That may be part of the reason why Denver is now willing to trade the pick. Also, the rule against trading consecutive draft picks is correct. However, if the trade is not officially announced until when/right after Denver makes the pick, it doesn't violate the rule. That is why many times draft-day trades will be known but not announced at the podium until later in the draft.
You're close, but I don't think that's quite right. You can't trade consecutive future picks. So Denver cannot trade the 2009 pick now. But, they were free to trade the 2008 pick after the 2007 draft. http://members.cox.net/lmcoon/salarycap.htm#71
