Wow. Kyle Lowry would be a really strong addition to their team. I'm not sure how Artest would fit, but if Artest were okay with being the third option on that team then the Nuggets would just be SICK.

Conley and Lowry are both very small point guards. Memphis just recieved Jarvis Crittendon in the Pau Gasol trade. Crittendon is a pg with size. Lowry is just redundant for them.

If that's the best Artest offer Sacramento has, that tells you that if the Rockets want in, the price is expirings, Landry and first rounder.

Neither one is the #1 goal of the front office right now. They're working on something else.

I just don't see Artest mentally accepting himself as a 3rd wheel to TMac and Yao, you know he wants the ball in his hands down the stretch. A career 42% shooter... not worth it when you consider Battier and Wells are capable of contributing in the playoffs. But his defensive skills are unmatched and he changes the course of most games he plays in... so if you can sign him to an extension, I say pay the price.

Given the match-up problems Artest naturally brings and his excellent defense, we should definitely pay the price. The only questions are his "baggage" that comes along with him. I could see Artest being a second option with T-Mac continuing his facilitator role.

But he will be the 3rd wheel in Denver too behind AI and Melo.

Ron is more clutch than anyone on the current Rocket roster including Yao and Mac. He demonstrated this the other night in 4th quarter vs the kings. The ball should be in his hands or in Mac's hands to set him up if we trade for him.

If the Rockets are all about winning now they may have to part with a young good player like Landry or Brooks to get Artest. Our championship window with Mac is not going to be open much longer. The Lakers, Suns, and Mavs, all have made moves to try and get a title before their players go into decline. The Rocekts are in the same boat as these other teams and we need to make a move.

I think they would want Brooks more then Landry. Rumor was they were high on him plus have a hole at PG with Bibby gone. They just picked up Sheldon Williams who is going to play PF for them. Plus Landry isnt on a rookie deal like Brooks is. With his recent play, I would bet Landry earns more then Brooks for the next couple years.

Nope.....don't want to rent him for the year.

Pass....let everyone else screw up their chemistry while ours is getting good.

    This makes more sense:

Nene/Steven Hunter/Kleiza to NYK for Zach Randolph
    Najera/JR Smith/Draft pick for Artest
    Wafer/pick for Lowery

    AI/Lowery
    Artest/Atkins
    Melo/Carter
    Randolph/Diawara
    Camby/Martin

They can then sign Juwan after he's released, and maybe another center.

When I saw the name Von Wafer, I just thought you guys were being funny and comparing some player to rafer. =) I had to look it up.

I agree. Artest would be great on D, but terrible on offense. The guy is a chucker that makes John Starks look like he had good shot selection. He just wouldn't fit with T-Mac and Yao. Mike Miller or Sam I am should be the Rockets' targets.

Just because the Nuggets are willing to take that risk, it doesn't mean that the Rockets should.

Besides it would be easier for Artest to fit in with 2 other knuckleheads than 2 choir boys.

artest isnt worth the risk, unless you are a team desperate to make the playoffs.

There are so many things wrong with this post that it's best that I just walk away...

Damn right. We need someone who can shoot 4's. ;)
