Thats what they think after beating the lakers

uhhhhh, im not sold on them yet...they have struggled as of late and just cuz they beat the lakers who came into town at 4 am the day of the game, they say that..

I mean they won and thats great, but i feel their team still
    needs improvement and more consistency
thats like saying our win over the cavs made us contenders....it didn't
it was a quality win but if we can't keep it going it doesn't help much...

the rockets test tonight starts on the road against the bulls

stastically they're the 4th best defensive team, you don't become the 4th best defensive team without consistency.

that boggles my mind. Nuggets and '4th best defense' in the same sentence. I can barely comprehend it.

Believe it, 4th best field goal percentage defense, Rockets 5th, Lakers 6th.

They're obviously better than they were last year, with the acquisition of Chauncey; but I'm not buying it quite yet.
They beat the Lakers which is not easy to do, but they beat a Laker team that arrived in Denver twelve hours before game time and who just had an all around poor shooting performance. You give Kobe, Gasol and even their bench those looks again they'll hit them nine out of ten times.

If Denver is pitted against someone like New Orleans or even Portland, I can't see them progressing very far.

For now, we keep playing with this consistency and we'll be passing them.

I'll make this simple- no. They aren't contenders. Maybe barely a 2nd tier team.

From what I've seen the Nuggets are very inconsistent...I wouldn't put them in the same caliber with the Celtics, the Lakers, the Spurs, and the Cavs.

This is why they fail, because their own Coach always hypes them up and when they lose he always never thinks it's his fault or the team's fault.

He'll go on to say that the Refs controlled the game, that a certain player got away with a lot, that they just had a bad night.

You have to stay humble, always stay humble.

lakers had to play a late tnt game then fly 1 timezone ahead to denver and arrive at like 4 am. This game means nothing....

It's the 3rd game in 4 nights and it's the 2nd game of a back-to-back set for the Lakers. The Lakers had to travel on a late flight to get to Denver.

Denver pounced on a worn out team. Nuggets are pretenders.

I don't trust Melo or the Nuggets in the playoffs, they have to prove that they are for real when it counts.

See what happens when your coach hypes you up?

Lost to the Grangerless Pacers...I can't talk too much because we lost to the Pacers...TWICE...but dang at least they had Granger.

Exactly they beat the lakers and called themselves contenders
and then lost to the pacers...
This is why i said they are too inconsistent

At this point in the season we already know who the for-real teams are: in the East- Boston, Cleveland, Orlando depending on Rafer. West - Lakers, Spurs. Everyone else is 2nd tier.

Of that 2nd tier group I'd actually say the Jazz are the next best playoff threat in the West. Atlanta in the East. But if the Nuggets get home court they have a good chance at advancing and playing over their heads in the 2nd round
