Apparently, it's true: N'Sync has been cut from "Attack Of The Clones", being confirmed by no less an authority than N'Sync's Joey Fatone. On the Carson Radio Show on 99.3 FLZ: FATONE: "I'm going to make it officially known that they dropped it because people made a big deal about it. CARSON: "Are you serious?" ---- So for all of you Star Wars fans out there, you can breathe just a bit easier tonight.
Just when I was beginning to warm up to the idea... (to which you ask, "Really, VesceySux?" and then I say, "Um. No.")
typical spin being thrust into maximum overdrive; they're still in it, guarantee it. after all, did everyone making a big deal out of the colostomy bag that was jar jar binks make him rethink the character's inclusion in parts 2 or 3? of course not...
At least the Mos Isley Cantina band played their own instruments! If N'Sync isn't going to be in it, can we at least see Britney Spears in an outfit similar to what Princess Leia wore at Jabba's palace in Return of the Jedi?
I bet they will be in it. Just more hype. Remember the whole Michael Jackson Nsync thing. Nsync announced MJ would be performing with them at the VMA's. A couple of weeks before MJ cancelled so NSync cancelled their performance at MJ's special. On the day of the VMA's MJ performed with Nsync. Next night Nsync joined MJ at his special.
In order to get my status one step closer to being a senior member...I must say that this news makes me happy.
Amen! Although I wouldn't have anything against Nsync getting their 'perfect' bodies chopped up into little pieces by Obi-Wan's Lightsaber.
Not final yet, but sweet Jesus I hope so..... from www.theforce.net direct link: http://www.theforce.net/episode2/index.html#13808 Bye, Bye, Bye 'NSync? Not So Fast Thu, Jan 10, 02 07:54:56 PM EST The word earlier today from 'NSync singer Joey Fatone was that the band's cameo appearances were being cut from Episode II. Well here's an article saying the decision ain't final just yet. Seems as if the final cut will come from George himself. From E! Online: "... I'm going to make it officially known that they dropped it because people made a big deal about it," said Fatone, who sounded a tad perturbed about the development. "We're not going to be in it, and I'm not going to comment on it any more." So can those griping Star Wars fans finally breath easy? Not quite. Lucasfilm spokeswoman Lynn Hale wouldn't confirm Thursday whether 'N Sync will or will not appear in the final cut of Clones, saying "it's just too early to make that decision." "The 'N Sync guys were shot as extras, and whether they're in or out won't be determined until the final edit," Hale says.
If the little b*stard is upset he needs to realize this is bigger than the moment. Instead of being selfish these pricks need to look at the big picture and realize what a legacy Star Wars is and try to keep it at least a little pure.
Star Wars is a movie. A MOVIE. Yes, it has some sort of "legacy" due to its influence on popular culture, but the same can be said for NSYNC. You can't seriously claim that a valid retort to him being pissed is "don't mess with the legacy", can you? If that's the case, you may as well say "don't make the prequel series, the first three were so great"... but, of course, people said the opposite until SW1 came out. The first series was just as cheesy as the second set is turning out to be... George Lucas has the right to do what he wants.. and if his daughter whines and says she wants to see *NSYNC, then, hey... it's his prerogative. Don't whine, or maybe he won't make the third one, hahaha...
Definitely. I have the right to get pissed over any damn thing I want. Lucas has no obligation to do anything a particular way to appease SW fans, but I say that fans definitely have the right get pissed about messing with the "legacy." Lucas can do with it as he chooses, but we who have faithfully followed the entire story for over 20 years, buying the original books, buying the expanded universe books, buying the re-mastered movies, buying the re-mastered Special Edition, buying the f*cking action figures.....all of us who have contributed to making Lucas a billionaire have the right to get pissed. Again, whether he does anything about it or not is his decision. But it wouldn't be the first time (or the last time) a public figure changed something due to public outrage.
but it's LUCAS' freaking legacy!! that's the part that kills me!! like i said earlier...this reminds me soooo much of the people who didn't want jordan to return for fear he might ruin his legacy...key note....IT'S HIS LEGACY TO BE RUINED!!! I can not believe people literally get mad over casting in a movie...another person's imagination and creation. It's LUCAS' story...however he tells it is the right way, because it's the only way! It was his baby to begin with and he'll be the one to close it out.
I can not believe people literally get mad over casting in a movie... Besides which, we're talking about casting of Extras... Not real characters, but extras. Chances are, the viewer wouldn't have even known it was NSYNC if the story hadn't come out about it.
