ok that was clearly racist but it does depend in intent. it was pretty funny how he was saying that he isn't going to let some racial slur take him down.
I think there's a large number of people who don't think of themselves as racist who use the n-word. They may use it amongst their family, friends, or race but they won't admit to it. Dog admitted to it and got busted by his own son.
How many rappers use the n-word? Are they racists? How is that not a double standard? Remember Chris Rock's famous line? There's blacks... and then .... well, I won't even go there, that's enough to remember it.
I use the N word a lot with my friends.. but that's just a lame attempt of us trying to be all 'cool' and 'gangsta' but no racist intent. Everybody does it and 99% of the time it isn't used as a racial slur. Now when some people I know are angry (usually happens when they drive and gets cut off) then you see their racist side come out.
Why are people recording his personal phone calls and reporting them to the news? Isn't that a slightly more troubling issue?
Do you condone or endorse Dog's associates surreptitiously recording a personal phone conversation and selling it to the press, specifically for the purposes of catching him using a racial slur in anger, or not?

it was his son who recorded it. maybe his son was so pissed off about how his dad was acting that he "outed" him.
That seems to reinforce the dishonesty and disloyalty factor. Publicly embarrassing the person who gave you life, and a career, because he insulted a social group you're not a member of.
I don't, and I've asked my friends not to use that word around me, as well. And they've been respectful of my wishes, some even admitting that they were wrong for saying it. There's no excuse for hate speech, even if you're black.
I hate that there is one word that is off limits and if you use it you are a bad guy and will probably lose your job. Wait, but only if your not black. If you're black then its funny. Only if you are a certain color. But the word police play an important part in our society. Anybody non black who says this one word is a worthless, evil human being. We should do our best to wipe certain words from existence of non black people. It is because of bad words that bad things happen. We must do our best to suppress certain people from saying certain words. The words will control you. So please tell me more words that I am forbidden to say. Rescue me from words. WORD ATTACK!
The part where he says he doesn't care if his son's girlfriend is black? The only reason this is news is becuase of that one word.
