    Southwest Airlines Engine Failure Results In First Fatality On US Airline In 9 Years

    Tammie Jo Shults is the pilot who bravely flew Southwest Flight 1380 to safety after part of its left engine ripped off, damaging a window and nearly sucking a woman out of the plane. The flight was en route to Dallas Love airport from New York City, and had to make an emergency landing in Philadelphia. Shults, 56, kept her cool during an incredibly intense situation, audio from her conversation with air traffic controllers reveals, while many passengers posted on social media that they were scared these were their last moments. She, with the help of the co-pilot and the rest of the crew, landed the plane safely. The NTSB reported that there was one fatality out of 143 passengers on board. Some passengers said that someone had a heart attack during the flight, but it's not yet known if this was the fatality reported by the NTSB. The woman who died has been identified by KOAT-TV as Jennifer Riordan, 43, of Albuquerque, New Mexico.


    Trump likely blames the Deep State et al . Trump takes responsibility for all that this is good and assigns blame for all screwups.

    The worst part about this tweet? It was tweeted out the day after 10 US Citizens were killed and identified in a small plane crash in Costa Rica. While it wasn't a commercial airliner, it was still tactless for Trump to tweet that so close to this tragedy. But, what should we expect from him.

    And why has he not tweeted about the SWA tragedy? One, to offer condolences to the family of the woman that died. Two, to offer well wishes to those that were injured and three, to congratulate the pilot on her Sulley-esque handling of the situation.

    First fatality in 9 years? what about that dog United murdered like last week? This was just a human that was a freaking puppy.

    Amazing event. Engine blow up and then a hole in the plane at 15k feet. They all must have feared death.

    I think the one fatality is that woman that got sucked out of the window, before being pulled back in. Guessing the impact through the window and frame killed her.

    Not to mention being outside at that altitude, air pressure, cold couldn't have helped her survival.

    Do not take the SW airlines. They are too cheap, there was a smoking problem years ago too. Maybe I am wrong for this.

    Probably all included in fine print when you purchase a ticket.

    Well yeah your not going to get millions haa.

    I have gotten around 7-8000 dollars for myself and tickets I have purchased from international tickets being bumped off flights. I would assume you would get something for almost dying.

    How can you guys blame poor Trump for airline deaths? Or Poor Bush for Katrina - like he makes the hurricanes!?!

    How can you blame Republicans for everything that is wrong in the world?
