    BTW, PS2 sold ~188.8K as well for those that like to keep up with it.

    I don't think I've posted LTD or YTD numbers in a while, so here they are:
    (thanks to Captain Smoker at NeoGAF)

    I was worried MGS4 wouldn't do too well given the PS3's situation as well as sales for GTA4 and MGS3, but this was a pleasant surprise.

    Isn't this pretty much in line with MGS sales?

    I had assumed it's numbers were pretty consistent.

    It is closer to MGS1 and MGS2 if that is what you mean (2M-2.5M US LTD). MGS3 sold 1.1M total in the US, and MGS4 sold almost that much in one month (w/o the holidays or the large PS2 userbase). I was worried that MGS was becoming less popular given MGS3's sales, and it also wouldn't be the first franchise to have disappointing sales compared to previous-gen games.

    But that doesn't seem to be the case given its sales so far.

    edit: At least, I think those are LTD numbers.
