wrd. it amazes me how 2k5's presentation is still light years ahead of madden, but ncaa 11 was really good this year. imo best football game since nfl 2k5.
defense in the game is absolutely broken. strategy pad sucks. not to mention franchise mode went untouched.
yes, even though it had it's flaws i thought it was a step in the right direction and much improved over 09.
The sales went down because the economy sucks not because Madden sucked...People don't wanna spend $60 on a video game period.
Glad Kane and Lynch 2 didn't sell much. Yahtzee Croshaw had a field day with his review. where do i start... offense is way too overpowered. average running backs like joseph addai look like 2006 ladainian tomlinson. too many tackling animations result in the rb falling forward for an additional 3 to 4 yards. wide receivers break tackles like it's not even funny. defensive ai is just r****ded to where zone defense is practically useless. db's are slow to react to everything. press coverage is junk this year as well. people are having nightmare storys online of 56-49 games because everything turns into a shootout because of how bad the defense is. the new locomotion has promise but the programming of it has jacked up the gameplay. Locomotion makes your defensive backs pivot and cut hard and offensive players defy those laws. It's pretty stupid. You can zig zag like crazy with guys like Chris Johnson, Felix Jones and you cannot tackle them. seems like ea simplified the game to appeal to more casual gamers than hardcore fans who want a true simulation football game.
I haven't played this year's much, but the way I see it Madden has progressed something like this: Madden 05: Best Madden they had ever made up to that point. Madden 06: Broken, buggy, terrible. 05 was better. Madden 07: Same as 06. Madden 08: Decent, but still not as good as 05. Madden 09: First one that *could* be considered better than 05. Madden 10: First Madden game that's clearly better than 05. It's amazing how they regressed as soon as that exclusivity deal happened though.
