If Langhi can play like he did tonight or even half as good as he played tonight in the regular season I think it allows us to put Walt Williams on the trading block. This can add alot of extra value for a package deal for a good power forward. What do yall think about Drew Thomas and Walt for Fizer?

Langhi was definately not a mistake. This guy's got GAME.

As far as the trade, if Chicago agrees to it, then helll yes. But, SOMEHOW, I dont think they will.

Ok, does anyone else notice anything funny about this?

After Langhi's first game with the Rockets, some people started calling him a bust.

Now, after his first good game, people start calling him our starter for the 2000-2001 season.

I do think he had a great game. As the ESPN commentators mentioned, Langhi's game is very much suited for the NBA.
He is pretty damn athletic, he can create his own shot, and he is more confident with the ball than Bull will ever be (for those that have been making comparisons). He showed something that could translate into a solid NBA career.

I'm going to say what everyone else says about Eduardo's great performance, "It's only one summer league game, let's not get too excited here." I guess I see where they're coming from because it's only one game.

Exactly ace. The first couple of games don't mean he's a bad player. This one doesn't mean he's good. The jury is still out on Langhi, and will be for a couple of years. People like to rush to judgement, but this isn't accurate, nor fair. Langhi looks like he COULD be a player... he also might be a bust. The truth is yet to come.

    But tonight was promising [IMG]!

    I think that he's still a mistake.
If you're smart, you won't be fooled again only with one good preseason game like this.

Note - Cato had 20pts and 12blocks,and the Rockets signed him to a fat extesion.
He is now a overpaid player,no doubt.

Nah, he earned about half his contract with those two blocks on $haq alone. He's not too bad of a drain anyway.

We had a thread on this a couple of days ago. Looking at the centers around the NBA, Cato could have commanded close to the max this summer with his potential, athletism, and for the lack of centers around the league. He is not overpaid.

Did Langi play much defense at all? I forgot to watch his Def when his Off was so good.

Langhi was a decent defender. He wasn't a guy that simply shut down the opposing player, but from my observations he was pretty good on the defensive end. He worked really hard too I could tell. He isn't a Shandon defensive wise, but he works hard and is very solid from the defensive side of the ball. He isn't a one dimensional player.

Langhi had a great game last night and he looked good. But you have to realize this isn't top notch talent he's playing against. He needs to add some more meat to his sack of bones. Let's see if he can duplicate his numbers Thursday.

    Corey-
What once looks like an overpaid player will look like a bargain and a half when you start to see the prices Chicago will be paying for any second or even third tier FA's they will get.

    BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

This may have been only one game, but honestly, Langhi showed me something last night. This guy is mobile....very mobile. A 6'11" JUMP SHOOTER??? Man, that is hard to come by. He was crossing the defense over and rising up over the top and draining shots (20 footers mind you).

He brought the ball up several times against a full court press. He snagged some rebounds, and had that NICE dunk on the pass from Dench.

He can create...he makes things happen. Sure, it may be one game, but Langhi has some skills I didn't know he possessed.

    Again, stay tuned!

I'm glad we paid Cato what we did. It's not that high a price for a center when you look at what some of the other centers are making (even guys like Ostertag). Besides, Chicago probably would have offered him a max contract this offseason if we let him go through the free agent process -- or at least they would probably be offering it now that they've got nothing at all in free agency. But who knows, maybe they can still give out a max contract -- to Brad Miller or Ron Mercer.

Sorry to keep it going but if Ben Wallace can get 5 mil per year...Cato's worth 7.
