I dunno why Grant or Person even bothered to step in between those two. Makes no sense...should have just let 'em go at it. See just who can "walk the walk" as opposed to just "talking the talk".

My money is on Vernon though. Old age and treachery will always overcome youth and vigor.

Payton is a great, great player, but man is he a punk. I remember one time he was provoking Drexler, I was hoping Clyde would just pick him up and break him in two.

Personally, I am glad Maxwell stood his ground. I think Max could probably take him too, Max wouldn't be a guy you wanted to get tangled with in a dark alley. I think Payton and Maxwell areis a match made in heaven. No love loss here, any cancer to players' chemistry in the Sonic's lockeroom is fine by me. They are about ready to booted in 3 by the Lakers anyway, I'll be watching for their meltdown.

BTW-this thread is probably more suited for the NBA forum, no biggie though.

i guess i missed it when Payton was provoking Drexler... so, what exactly did Clyde do back to him???...or did he just ignore the punk???

I don't really remember the context, I am thinking probably early in that ugly for us 96 playoff series. I think Clyde got back into his face but didn't physically do anything, which was lucky for The Glove. I am sure others on the BBS remember more about the incident.

    Moondogg,

It wouldn't be young vs. old... Payton's only something like 3 years younger than Maxwell. [IMG]
