Despite AB having a slightly better FT% than Yao, he hasn't learned to cope with pressure FT situations. In time and with more experience, AB shouldn't have any issues shooting FTs in pressure situations. For now though, I absolutely agree with Yao taking the technical FTs as Yao is more used to the pressure in close game situations.

Yao only missed 1 FT out of more than 20 that he took. :)

AB needs to improve, his best is Nelson, his worst is a poorman Alston.

Aaron "1 for 2" Brooks almost cost us the game...for the 2nd time in two games.

As he grows, he'll learn to deal with the pressure.

Yao and AB actually finished the season with about the same FT percentage. The difference is that Yao went to the line about 300 more times than AB did.

Yeah, what can you say except AB wasn't ready for those pressure FT's and it nearly cost us. I agree that in time he'll be a valuable crunch time FT shooter, but he's got a ways to go judging by this one.

Someone else should have replaced him as starting PG by then.

An absolute dribble without purpose game by AB. Glad we pulled out a win.

    Aaron will learn.

This series will be great for his growth.

Yes. He has hit tough shots all year, and made some big plays for the Rockets when the Blazers closed to within 1 in the 3rd quarter. That one armed rebound/tuck was huge.

Guys give the AB a break he is young and only a second year player also it is not easy to lead a veteran playoff team as a young pg

That explains it all, Yao > AB in all FT situation imo.

I still don't understand why Rockets didn't try to inbound the ball to Yao, but just let Yao stand there with a man in his back.

While I am not happy with Brooks performance at the line in game 4, I feel that the contributors to this thread are just hating on AB and supporting KL. In case you forgot, KL missed BOTH free throws at the end of the game.

Yao is too slow to get an inbound pass if his defender is determined to deny him the ball.

Aaron going one for two is better than none for two.

I think he should be the one shooting the Techs, to bring up his confidence level, and since he makes the front end of the two foul shots.

I think that was because they had Yao sandwiched and if Brooks can get the ball on the move he can outrun the blazers and run a lot of time off the clock.

Brooks is a choker under pressure. Like I said in the other thread, the Rox cannot reply on him for clutch FTs.

Adelman didn't trust passing it into Yao because he afraid that result in TO. But from last game he should have learn??!! Sad to see our pg can't hit 2 consecutive FT :(

Adelman should have Battier handling the ball in the dying minutes of the dame. I know his handles aren't of a PG's level, but he just needs to hold it and get fouled.
