Recently, my girlfriend quit her job working in the resturant industry (bartender). It was a terrible workplace if you ask me with tons of stress and drama...and not to mention terrible management. But anyways, shes currently looking for another. I think shes in that stage in her life where she dosnt know what she wants to do as a profession. She loves being around people and communicating, thus being a bartender in the past. Im not sure if she wants to go that route anymore, since her allergies act up when in that type of enviroment. Shes been looking for office type jobs, secretarys or receptionist, but have not had much luck so far. I cant see her being behind a desk 8hrs a day though... Personally, I think she would be perfect as one of those people at apartment complexes that show you around. Would still be around people but yet still be inside at a desk half the time. The point of this thread/post is to see if anyone has seen any job openings somewhere and/or have any advice you could give. Thanks in advance.
what about like a retail store? she can be up and around and talk to people all day and help them out. just a thought i had fun when i was working at a retail store the pay wasnt too good though thats why i left
I work for an apartment management company. If she wants to be a leasing consultant, here's some job openings: http://www.allianceresidential.com/Employment/default.asp. If you want to use me as a reference (so I can get my $100 or whatever it is), email me thru the board, and I'll make up stuff about what a fantastic employee she'd be, even though I've never met her.
thanks man that would be great. what kind of qualifications does she need to have? second that i will just get her or myself to email you. again thanks alot even if you cant help
I know this guy downtown. Kind of a skum-bag and dresses REAL flashy, but his girls are ALWAYS well paid. She would definately be around people and laying around on the job is actually kind of preferred. Anyway, I've done some good business with the guy so I can put in a good word if you're interested. Oh, one last note. if you're the jealous boyfriend-type, I would think twice about it though.
Mostly, they hire for personality. They want outgoing, friendly, upbeat people. That she's already worked in a service industry should help. But, she was likely better paid as a bartender.
