We miss Deke, badly! and who will be activated now? Dorsey will be logic one for his position, but is he serviceable? I know White probably will be at the far end of bench, but if Rockets decided to sign him at such late stage, they must liked him for a reason or two. Bring him on, try him on Roy/Aldridge for a min or two since nobody else can slow down this two-headed monster. I mean what we gonna lose anyway? It may actually work, like the 1st game, we changed Chuck to Scola on Aldridge and the guy so confused and forgot how to shot, even Roy shocked. They said that's adjustment, that's playoff, right? Go Rockets!
Neither are on the 12-man playoff roster. Cook and Barry are the only two available players that did not get minutes last night. I don't expect to see Cook get much action if any, despite the loss of Deke. Evan
cook should get a try just for a minute or two, he can take oden away from the rim and give houston a better chance to rebound.
pretty sure you can't adjust your 12 active playeres except in between series? Or am I getting confused?
I too think that if the player is eligible, he can get into the roster if the coach choose to, as long as a deadline before each game is met.
Rosters are set. You live by it. That's why when AI was active on Detroit's roster people were like, hmm. But Cavs got that one anyways. Gonna have to live with Chuck and Landry. Brian Cook is garbage.
Not even for substitution of the injured? Are you 100% sure? If Aldridge is too hot for a long stretch, it does not hurt to give him a different look. Cook's D is not as good as any other PF in the team, but he turns to get very close to his man and use his body, like Hayes. I don't mind if Aldridge gets by him, as it is the shooting that's the deadly weapon. Cook spread the floor even more than Scola due to his range, so it may release the defensive pressure on Yao a little.
yes they can change the roster per game according to this rule: Playoff roster size will be expanded from 13 to 15 players, with each team designating 12 active players and up to three inactive players prior to each game. http://www.nba.com/news/rulechanges_060802.html
it's confirmed that the rule is still valid this year from Marc Stein's story about Iverson just last week: The NBA requires the 16 playoff teams to submit a roster including no less than 13 players by 3 p.m. Thursday. The Pistons must add Iverson because they only have 13 players under contract, two short of the league's permitted roster maximum of 15 players. ... Teams are required to name 12 active players per game from the playoff roster, meaning that Iverson will be listed as Detroit's lone inactive player in every game after leaving the team last week. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4071848
Lol... Oh come on they can't be that bad? Seriously I had high hopes for Dorsey contributing this year and he really looks lost. The scary thing is he looks lost in the NBDL too. I have heard his IQ is very low and that is what is holding him back more than anything? White on the other hand had a moment of brilliance followed 2 moments of nothing. And in the NBDl he shined. SO I see hope for him and the Rockets must too. To give him a contract for next year already.
There are rules for injury circumstances. Surely the Rockets will be allowed to put somebody in Deke's slot.
I'd only like to see Dorsey get on the court to go Ray Lewis on Pussbilla...show him what a real foul feels like.
As much I'd love to see that too, you gotta remember that if he plays, it would be his first NBA playoff experience. He didn't even play a decent amount of garbage minutes! I'm afraid he would play much like the Blazers did in Game 1, and Coach A knows this
