WTHR, Indy's NBC affiliate is reporting that Ron Artest's agent said today that Ron Ron is remorselful for his trade demands and wants to try to work something out to stay with the Pacers. The dude is seriously mental.
I heard on ESPN here in Dallas that there are at least 20 teams who are looking to get Artest. That's freaking insane!
F' that thought. I just want him to pile up some stats. He's gonna get more if he gets deported to NBA Siberia.
I have no knowledge other than what has been reported on mainstream media, but I still think that by Xmas day, Ron Artest (and filler) will be sent to Denver for Andre Miller (and filler). Not sure how I'd feel about this if it went down.
I don't know. The Pacers are going to get 50 cents on the dollar for Artest right now and, IMO (and everyone here knows how much of a Dre homer I am) Dre is a damn good PG who would thrive in Indiana (look at his #'s in Cleveland). I do know that the Nugs offered Watson and Vo for Artest and were shot down, and I also know that Indiana wants Nene.
Hell if that's the case, then I'd pull the trigger if I'm the Nuggets. Nene's is out for the season, is injury-prone, and has done very little to live up to his "upside". Artest could very well put them over the top THIS year. To get him for a guy out for the season would be a no-brainer IMO.
I don't think there is much of a chance that he stays with the Pacers. O'neal has already spoken out about needing only players who want to be on this team and i doubt the team will enjoy having back someone that has been only self motivated for the past 2 years.
I really don't think it's going to be that much of a buyers' market. 20 teams have reportedly called, and Walsh is saying there's at least 12 quality offers on the table. Count on no less than 4 teams getting into at least a small bidding war. There's also a good chance of this becoming a 3-team swap. I'd be surprised if the Pacers don't get a good deal out of this. Not saying it's been offered, but the NY papers are talking like the Nets aren't against trading Carter. For you Artest-Andre Miller swap, Tinsley would presumably also need to get moved, involving a third team.
Agreed (except for the THIS year part). Just going with the rumors that have been confirmed as discussions, I would like to see the Nugs move Nene & Vo for Artest, and then send one of the Earl's for Michael Doleac (rumor was Watson but I would MUCH rather have Boykins be moved). It would give us: # Miller, Earl # Artest, Buck, Hodge # Melo, DerMarr, Russell # K-Mart, Najera, Kleiza # Camby, Doleac, Elson Draft a shooter in this upcoming draft (Reddick?) and I'd feel really comfortable with the team. Outside shooting is going to be our kryptonite this year, and there are no real options available to solve that, so why not just try to improve the team as much as possible? But I have faith that Kiki knows a lot more than me.
I think putting Melo and Artest in the same lockerroom with a sprinkle of Martin is a recipe for disaster, especially with a coach like Karl who has a history of feuding with players in the media (Allen). That lineup is scary on paper though, no doubt.
I think Artest's agent has been saying that Artest wants to stay. Doesnt matter though cause the pacers have already said artest will never again play for them.
Nah, I keep saying it, but Melo (or Artest or K-Mart or whomever) won't pull a Spree on Karl until year three. I'm going to enjoy him until that point. http://www.denverpost.com/nuggets/ci_3320271 Great deal for the Hawks.
