The Monster Trucks are coming to H-Town. You know, for a guy that thinks he's pretty smart and makes fun of all kinds of people I am ashamed that I get so much enjoyment out of those big damned trucks. The 16th is my son's 6th birthday and I have him so excited about going. My gift to him is a ruse. It is me that is excited. He just happens to be turning 6 and coming along.
Hey, that's my birthday as well, but I'll be turning 32. I'm hoping that my ex will allow my son to spend the day with me this year. She didn't last year, although her father let me see him for a while while she was at work. I really hope you guys enjoy the show...together!
you break my heart everytime you say things like this, Falcon, because I can't imagine going very long without being with my son...I pray for you and your son all the time. Wish I could help past that.
We will. I'm glad you caught the tongueincheekedness of my post. I love seeing the little booger get all excited about doing something, ANYTHING, with me! I am sorry to hear you have a difficult situation. I'll pray along with MadMax.
I call my son my little critter, and when I do this, he attacks me like a little bug!!! Thank you both for your prayers.
I bought my 2.5 year old daughter a 6 pack of rockets tickets ($10. tickets) which I will enjoy as much as she does. We went to the first game last night and she had a blast. I pulled the half time ticket upgrade and sat 4 rows behind the Rockets bench in the second half. She really enjoyed being that close to the game and she watches all the games with me on TV. Spending time with your kids is priceless. Falcons Talon - I hope you can work something out to spend more time with your kid. I don't think I could deal with not having my 2 wonderful kids in my life every day. Stay Strong.
I've heard so much about the terrible two's, and I haven't had any problems with my son. I love doing things with my son and I can see that you guys do the same with your children! That's awesome, and I'm glad to call you my friends. Every time something neat comes to the valley, I try to take him to it. I've taken him to a circus where he got to ride his first horse, I take him to Mr. Gatti's usually about once a week, I take him to church every weekend and afterwards to my parent's house. Tuesdays and Thursdays, we leave the house 30 minutes early to feed the ducks and a grey duck has befriended me and my son. He named it Thomas and it loves to eat out of his hand. He gets a HUGE kick out of that.
Can't say I haven't experienced the terrible twos!! My son is extremely willful...wonder where he gets that?
I probably just gave myself the kiss of death!!! He has tried to test me a couple of times but I quickly explain what will happen if he continues. His biggest thing is pulling his hand away from me. I simply get on my knees and tell him "I'm not mad at you son. Do you want me to get upset?" He usually tells me no or he won't answer at all. That's when I ask him "What happens if you pull your hand away" or it could be "...listen the first time?" He knows his consequences and tells me what his punishment is. Then I ask him if he wants that and he says no. Then I'll tell him to give me a hug and a kiss... I sure miss him.
Tomorrow!!! I get to see him every Tuesday and Thursday...HEY!!! This Saturday he gets to sleep over!!! I returned to coaching on the condition that it did not interfere with my being able to see my son. I could have had any position under the Head Basketball coach. I decided to take the freshman B and sophomore teams. None of those games fall on a Tuesday or Thursday, and all of our practices are from 6-8 in the morning. It's hell to get up earlier, but it's all worth it just to see my son.
