Just watching this 2nd round rookie shoots the ball tonight against the Mavs makes i'm sure everybody excited. Novak has gifted talent that a lot of team in the NBA will go nuts when they see this second rounder kid from marquette do a lot of catch and shoots. Last shots that he drilled and time out was called, TMac can't help smiling and looking on Novak and see a lot of potentials that this team never had consistently behind the arc. And i think that is priceless!

The thing about Novak is he SHINES when he is the focus of the offense, will he be able to do the same when his shots come in less frequent spurts? I hope so.

best case scenerio the white white reggie miller, worst case scenerio bullard. once he gets even more confidence and doesnt second guess shooting. he'll light it up. lets not forget he got 7 boards tonght. novak for ROY...maybe thats a stretch but if used correctly he'll follow head in the all rookie second team.

he was 2-7 from behind the arc....granted he hit a big shot at the end, but still...thread title is more than a little misleading.

He hit another one with his heel out of bounds..........the guy can flat out shoot....5-10 overall tonight....and he hit the BIG shots at the end....that is very Robert Horry like.

What I'm rooting for is for both of them to make the rookie sophmore team. That would be great to watch, although there's a big chance both of them won't make it....

He also hit one stepping on the line! The guy can flat out shoot from everywhere. Novak fits right in to this fast pace team.

Novak needs to quit pump-faking. A lot of times he had a lot of space but still pump-faked.

Hopefully he can develop into an Eddie Johnson type of shooter who makes you pay if you give him an eyelash of space. I wanna see guys fly at him trying to closeout hard - opening up the interior for everyone else.

Forget the Bullard comparisons. He's past that already. My guess is Novak's minutes will be limited but his instructions will be to shoot the ball when he's in there. During one timeout, it looked like JVG ripped him one after he passed up a wide open shot. At some point during his career, maybe he can rebound and defend enough not to be just a niche player.

I saw that. He passed up a couple of open shots, even if they were only open for a moment. After Van Gundy chewed him out, he seemed like he tried too hard, before he settled back down. As much as I hated the Dallas announcers, and they really sucked, they had some good things to say about Novak and KillBill. Damn, Novak is going to score some points this year. What a sweet shot!

Novak is becoming my favorite player on the team ( behind Yao/the mac obviously )

He just needs to grow some balls. A lot of times he would have space but he would do some awkward pump fake dribble and pass the ball away to azubuki or something.

At Marquette he was a big scorer, so I know he is capable of this confidence, he needs to get it in the big leagues now.

this is great news, i know all off season, we were talking about acquiring shooters, t-mac and yao draw so many doubles, and everyone would brick open shots,
novak was a good second round pick up for us!!!!

He checked into a game after a time out.. came out and drilled a 3 point shot. I think he is capable of making shots without him being the focus.

Besides the shooting, I also noticed he hustles alot. He is so active on the court and he runs pretty fast with quick release.

i noticed that as well when he was the only one to get back, rebound and a get a put back after a azuibuke failed lay up.

He will ditch the hesitation in due time. At Marquette he'd get his shot off anytime, anywhere, as long as he wasn't wearing the defender like a coat.

    Here's some evidence...

I'm happy to have a true shooter on the team. I'm really psyched for Novak and hopeful he'll make an impact, and soon.

But it's a little weird to have this thread after he goes 2-7 from behind the arc. No, I didn't see the game.

how do you know he is the focal point of the offense? should it be luther head, snyder, b4 novak?

c'mon, he was never focal point!!!
i dun wanna be negative, but novak's shot was too slow and as a result he missed every one of the contested shot. he can only hit open shot and therefore he will gradually fall out of the rotation as the season rolls on.
