1st of all . .Notre Dame was AT LEAST smart enough to correct the mistake of not hiring Willingham the 1st time This guy is a DAMN GOOD COACH that 1st play out the box was GREAT!! Florida State is moving the ball THIS WILL BE A GREAT GAME!! Rocket River
i wonder how that busted up camera is feeling right about now. The announcers sure seemed fascinated.
What the hell is wrong with Florida State? I think I just heard 3 turnovers in 3 minutes (I'm not watching the TV, but it is on). Go IRISH
Notre Dame is spanking them now! Ty Willingham may go up next to Touchdown Jesus before its all said and done. If they hold on the BCS is going to get more and more tricky. Can you imagine Miami winning out and not being in the Championship game? It's possible.
17 pts in 2:21 for ND. thanks a lot FSU. now i'm all but assured of watching ND in a bcs bowl. if they play OU in the Fiesta bowl, i think i'll kill myself or something. i wonder which team would get all the breaks in that game, since they're both so ****ing lucky.
I can't believe it but I'm turning the channel to watch more Miami WV. FSU's done. Stick a fork in em.
my god. Notre dame is so lucky. So damn lucky. I cannot believe how lucky they are. They are the Irish, and are lucky. Luck.
but these two things aren't mutually exclusive. there is no doubt they are good/great teams, but lets not pretend they aren't lucky as hell. stuff like OU blocking that iowa st. punt and then the iowa st guy getting there first and just whiffing is what i'm talking about. i'm telling you, the fiesta bowl would be epic, i'm just trying to imagine how it would end. an immaculate reception type play with a fumble at the one that is returned to the other one, fumbled again and returned for the game winning TD probably. who wins, i don't know, but probably OU b/c i hate them more.
I see what you mean about the ISU player missing the ball. Sure they've gotten some breaks but they've put themselves into that position.
just call me freakin' Nostradamus, b/c i called a ND blowout all week... i can't wait to gloat on Monday to all my friends who laughed at me and said FSU would steamroll
that's what i'm talking about, off the umpire's head for the INT. obviously has no bearing on this game, but lucky nonetheless.
ND and OU probably have the best defenses in the country. Still ND has been lucky too, like 5 wins by 7 points or less. OU is in a different league than ND or anyone else right now. Still both teams have losable games left. ND could easily lose to BC or SC. In fact I think it was about 10 years ago ND pulled the big upset over FSU, looked headed for the NC game, and they lost to BC the next week. BC will have nothing to lose, now people expect ND to win and the stakes are high--it is a different situation. BTW--has college football really based Bowden or what. He still gets a lot of talent. But his team is embarringly undisciplined, and doesn't seem to have the nack for making big calls at big times any more. Bowden has regressed into a Mack Brown.
I'm sorry, you can't call an undefeated, 8-0 team that is ranked #6 in the country lucky. That's like calling an NBA team lucky after they win 60 games, at some point you go from being lucky to being good. And in Notre Dame's case they are good, DAMN good! They're what I like call "A bad ass football team".
Hey, I am right here. I'll give ND credit where credit is due. They are probably the best coached team in the country and they don't beat themselves. I really didn't think they had much chance of winning this game, but is it a coincidence that Florida State is like 13-7 since Mark Richt and Chuck Amato left their coaching staff?? Hmmm...I think not. Now, things are really going to get dicey. Looking at Notre Dame's remaining schedule, they have 2 gimme games in Rutgers and Navy, one somewhat tough game in BC, and one game left against a team that can legitimately beat them in USC. However, after today, I wouldn't bet against the Irish. Let's just say that Miami (which really needs to do something about their run defense) beats Tennessee, Virginia Tech and finishes the regular season 12-0. Also, let's say OU beats Colorado, Texas A&M, and then wins the Big 12 Championship Game (probably against Colorado), and Notre Dame wins out (forget about anyone else although Georgia is looking pretty good right now). Thanks to the absolute asinine and dumbass decision to take out MOV (margin of victory), the computers are in love with Notre Dame. I would not doubt it one bit if the Irish jump over Miami in the next BCS standings. So, you will have a team that is the defending national champion, has a 34 game winning streak, and is #1 in both polls (the AP and the Coaches) but yet not playing for the BCS National Championship. That is f*cked up to say the least, and a perfect reason to get a damn playoff in college football. Thankfully, the AP poll has no agreement with the BCS in that whoever wins the BCS National Championship Game is the automatic #1 team in their poll like the Coaches Poll does. Thus, you still have the possibility of a split National Champion . Seriously, this could be the best thing to happen because it will spark something better (like a playoff, hello) to help determine the national champion.
