I'm running XP and get those notification boxes that pop up when a wireless network is available. Someone has one around me that's on the fritz and keeps connecting and disconnecting and the box keeps coming up. Is there anyway I can turn that off? Thanks.
You can set up the network to only check for trusted connections. Not at home now so not sure exact setting, but play around with it, it is in there. Mark
Uncheck the "Use Windows to manage my wireless network settings" box. When that's checked, Windows thinks it's doing you a favor by looking for new/closer/stronger access points.
