To be fair to DA, how many games did he play with a healthy Yao and T-Mac and w/o?

It seems most of his stats and playing time came without one or both.

Truth is DA wasn't shooting well before he got injured. He seemed to be far more effective in penetrating to the basket and drawing fouls. His 3pt shot was a near-automatic brick. These stats will support that fact.

    Good stuff, Clutch.

Man, I was lobbying for us to trade for Rafer last season, so of course I loved the trade. But, he has REALLY impressed even more the last week or so.

I know we all want a bigger 2-guard starting but I don't think you mess with Wesley for now. He fits in well in his role and you would be hard pressed to find a lot of players that consistently bring it on both ends of the floor around the league like he does. They must address that position in the offseason but, unless a knockout player that will stabilize the SG for now and the future is on the table at the deadline, you leave it be with Wesley, Head & Bogans.

It's really too bad we had these injuries to Yao and TMac. At this point in the season, we would be talking about trying to get home court advantage, not praying for the last playoff spot.

The important ones IMO: Head, Swift, Wesley, and Alston becasure i'm sure they are here to stay. It's all the better that they play better with T-Mac and Yao because we are going to keep them.

The most important one is the 0 - 13 stat. That's disturbing because if we make the playoffs, obviously, we'll be playing all pro .500 teams...

EDIT: Does anyone know how many of those games were played without T-Mac, Yao or both?

Well I personally doubt Wes will be traded...especially as he is right now our most deadly 3 point threat and a good defender, even if he has trouble against a few taller guards like Kobe. I'd like to keep this version of David Wesley at least until the end of the season. Then CD's going to have to decide whether he's worth a new contract...because teams are going to go after him like candy.

We have the Clippers and Suns twice a piece in the next 14 days...we need 3 out of 4 of those games IMO (plus wins vs GS and Orl) to really establish playoff contention.

As far as Wesley goes, I serioulsy doubt he will be traded just because he is a Van Gundy guy. I think he likes it here too, and may sign for the vet. min in the offseason to come back. The guy never really gets enough credit.

Wesley is providing some great offense, sure, but we get lit up by bigger guards. And since he isn't part of our future, might as well include DWes in a trade now---depending on who we get in return, of course.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to build the world's first bionic shooting guard. David Wesley will be that man. Better than he was before. Taller, stronger, faster.

The Rockets are 15-7 this season, a .682 winning percentage. Not saying they would, but if they had maintained that winning % all year, they would be roughly 35-16 -- behind the Spurs and Mavs but ahead of the Suns and Clippers.

Ah... You got me there Clutch, Damn those basketball gods...

I don't think it's really true that Wesley gets consistently lit up by bigger guards.
Sure, Kobe did that recently, but Kobe lits up everyone when he's on.

Thank you Clutch for the stats.

DW hits 46.4% of his 3-pters and Head hits 41% when playing with both Yao and Tmac. It just shows you the open looks this guys could get when playing with the two stars. Double Yao and Tmac all you want, our perimeter guys will have a field day. :D

If I were a perimeter player in the NBA, I would play for less to be on the same team with these two guys.

Rashad McCants (sp?) lit up David for a career high. (Need to double check that.)

lol that picture is hilarious. on a serious note though, this season has been frustrating, but i have faith that cd, jvg, tmac, yao and the boys can turn this season around. theyve done it before, and we have always been strong finishers. skip to my lou has matured alot since his and 1days, and it shows on the court. if our perimeter guys (wesley, head, rafer, bogans, etc.) can hit their shots when called on, we are a top 6 team in the nba. look for the rockets to add another sharp shooter before the deadline. thats what we miss. remember how barry, wesley, mike james, and bob sura hit big shots in crunch time? where are they now? alston is formidable, and wesley is money, but we need another 1 or 2 guys to step up soon, or bring someone in.
