Before you bash him in your post, please post how many games you have seen him play. The ignorance of the bashers is truly amazing. Granted, I am not a Yao expert nor do I claim to be one but any average intelligence human being should agree that Yao has alot more skills than Bradley by simply watching a few of the recorded games. Here are some of the videos that I copied from another poster. I dont remember the posters name but he/she did a great job finding these videos. If the bashers still have negative comments after these videos, please feel free to post back but please watch this guy play before you make any judgements.

    Mr. B

    VIDEO is very intact.

    first round.

I just looked at the video and not bad Yao(but I must add that the dude is extremely goofy on the court). Unfortunately, I think Kelvin Cato could do the same against that competition. Hence, the reason for argument. If Yao did that for a top 25 D1 team, I would too be riding the bandwagon.

One reason why this is thread is pointless...

CBA......Does not compare to the level of competition played in the NBA, so until Yao proves himself he is just another risky draft pick.

    good god,

and college ball (or highschool) is that much better than the cba too? or maybe yao is a (gasp) a regular first round pick????

cba may not be the nba, but at least it is better than college ball. i just wanna see him play.

there is just as much chance that jay-will will be a bust as yao. so then it is a moot point, no?

I'm a Yao fan, but Jay Will is prob the most likely draftee to be good. He could be a loser like Marbury, or be a bad ass like Payton, minus the defense.

Nonetheless, he will be a good player. Not sure if he'll be a winner or not.

holy cow (gasp) ... are there Yao bashers on this board (gasp) ... how could that be?

I've seen the damn tapes. Yao blows. I saw some pretty awesome Bradley footage 9 years ago and what has he done?

CC.net is in bed with Yao.

Bradley also didn't play basketball for 2 years, when he was drafted.

What's your point? That Philly was retarted?

My point is that he was a much bigger gamble than Yao, seeing how Bradley only played 1 year of collegiate basketball. Then spent 2 years on a Mormon mission. Then went to the draft.

And after one year, didn't he look "good"?

Even more impressive considering he didn't play on any national team or play for the high level CBA.

Ya, he played against the great opponents that BYU faced.

Your Bradley argument is weaker than Bradley himself. Give it up. Just say that you don't think much of him, and that's it. There is no way you can logically use Bradley as an example.

Bradley looked ok, but I was very skeptical (more skeptical than about Ming) because of the fact that Bradley hadn't played basketball in 2 years.

When you don't play basketball for 2 years, around the age of 20, that kills your career before it even begins. Whatever he had his freshman year at BYU, was obviously gone 2 years later.

You can't say the same about Ming.

That is why you can't compare Bradley to Ming. They have completely different background. The only similarity they have is that they are very tall.

Using your logic, that must mean Kobe Bryant is a good compariosn for Kenny Thomas because they are both 6 ft 7.

having SEEN yao (olympics), the dream team (olypmics plus warm up event) and regular nba games in the flesh, all i can say is read the sig... you just can't comprehend his presence on the court until you see him in action/on it.

I agree that the CBA is no NBA but it is definitely better comp than High School and at least equal to division II college ball and perhaps some division I. But my point is that the videos definitely shows skills that Bradley NEVER had.

    1. Jumper (Yao can consistantly make 15-20 footers)

    2. Yao is much more fluid.

    3. He does have post moves. He has a hook shot, turnaround, and he even used a drop step move and finished with a dunk!

    4. Yao is a magnificent passer.

To conclude this pointless debate, Yao avged 20-10 and shot 60% in the International Tournament while Bradley avged 4-4 and shot 45%.

    In writhe's opinion, 20 and 10=4 and 4.

Which draftees in the past have played in the NBA before the draft? So do you mean every single one of them was risky draft pick? Unless NCAA changes the rule to let college/high school players play a few games in the NBA before the draft, every one will also be risky draft pick in the future. Right?

Ming has been playing in international competitions for years and he has played the dream team before. By applying the same logic in your opinion, I think I can safely conclude that Ming is somewhat less 'risky' than all other draft picks in history. Am I correct?

does anyone here understand the numbers he puts up?

i mean, look, he is the best player on that team, so you know he gets double and triple teamed. so to put up those numbers as well is incredible.

in houston, it will be awsome, he gets doubled cat or stevie or mo-tay or eddie will rip em to shreds! it is really exciting to think about, but as i keep saying.

lets all just wait and see.....

What im really not looking forward to is the World Championships....Weve seen Yao's team...and theres no way the Chinese team should be able to compete with team USA...
So when Yao has a decent or average game, because his teamates cant get him the ball, i expect everyone who hates yao to come out of the closet. Dont watch thatgame for numbers that Yao puts up...
RATHER WATCH THE GAME FOR HOW YAO PLAYS, HIS UNDERSTANDING OF THE GAME, HIS MOVEMENT, ETC. That is the key to how he will play in Houston amongsth better teamates.

Wait till his first NBA game to start judging him
