I've got a 42" screen and I want to see the freaking football game; not a continuous news crawler and I don't need the freaking scoreboard on top while the teams are running a play! Maybe I do have the concentration of a gnat and doze off in between first and second down, but I'm not a simp enough that I need to read every 30 seconds that four men have been arrested for non-premeditated murder in the Sean Taylor case. Every 30 seconds in the West Virginia game, every 30 seconds in the Cal game, every 30 seconds in the Oklahoma game. Score updates as they change? sure, love 'em, but not during the plays! As it stands now, when Missouri goes 5 wide, one guy is under the projected scoreboard and one guy is standing on top of that annoying news crawler. When the QB goes under center the producer needs to kill all that crap and give a clear clean 42" of FOOTBALL! Thanks for letting me get that off my chest. By the way, even though Bryant Gumble spent the whole evening talking in a condescending, nasally, smarter than anyone else tone, the NFL network's graphics were pretty good: understated during play and startlingly brilliant between plays. (Bryant did get two replay calls right that I had wrong...b*stard )
The NFL Network's graphics were understated. However, is it too much to ask to show the play clock before it reads :01?
love the ticker. what I find more annoying is how all networks have their name on the screen now. like Bill Maher said "ABC, you don't have to have your name at the bottom of the screen the entire program, you want to know how I know I'm watching Lost, I'm bored"
Because it's not at all distracting to have a moving line of type, while watching the QB, the RB, the defensive stunts and coverages AND simultaneously trying to give an overall rating to the ten cheerleaders...on each sideline. You love it, fine. Just take it off the screen when the QB goes under center. I swear, they used to. I think the logo has something to do with preventing the unautorized reshowing of video. Whatever, it still sucks.
Agree 100%. Not to mention the scrollers are offset from the bottom of the screen, wasting more screen real estate. I did not get a high def TV to watch the friggin scroller!
