Unfortunately I'm hesitant to say Boki sucks. Being an actual BASKETBALL fan and Rockets supporter Boki is bad. I understand it's only one preseason game but he brought absolutely nothing to the team. Undecisive and missing wide open shots is pretty bad. I too have held back on my harsh judgements on him but by his play tonight and bad decision making I believe the writings on the wall. Jeff actually had to spend a 20 sec timeout to chew Boki out on his decision making. Other than Boki I thought the Rockets looked OK for preseason. Looking forward to the up coming season but don't hold your breath on Boki and playing time. He just does'nt deserve it!
lets judge the player on 1 game. 6 months ago he was king of this board with his plays on malone. now hes notbar.
this board changes criticism like a pair of pants. goodness people, its the first preseason of the game! Relax guys, you gotta understand that boki isn't tracy mcgrady. He isn't a first option type of player. what you saw tonight was boki playing out of his style. First of all, he had to guard dwayne wade all night or most of the night. he's a 6-9 SF guarding a stud PG. Anybody that knows anything about basketball knows that its always harder for a taller guy to guard a faster smaller guy. Second of all, like i said, boki isn't a first option type of player. He works better off the ball and in motion. When he is counted to score the points off the dribble for the team, he'll struggle. But when he's running the fast break and being the shooter off a 2nd or 3rd pass, he'll flourish. Just be patient, watch what he can do with t-mac and yao on the court or even someone decent like mo-taylor or JJ. I mean if you even watched the game a little bit today, you could tell when he was with the 2nd unit he was more inclined towards the extra pass and the setup, because that's who he is, a ROLE PLAYER I'm going to hold off on my final judgement until he gets his chance with regular minutes and in the regular rotation and not with scrubs like bowen and gaines feeding him.
Nachbar is going to make you fools (doubters) poop in your pants like Karl Malonie Ponie. I have no doubt in my mind that Boki has it in him to contribute key minutes.
EXACTLEY a role player. The only reason I posted is because some people actually think he's a star. I'll accept a Boki role player anytime but dont make him a star because he's not. I usually dont post my opinion but since Boki's name is thrown around like this is his year he's just not that good. I love the Rockets and have tried to love Boki but it's just not happening. So PLEASE everyboby stop worrying about his minutes being taking by someone else because he just doesnt deserve them!
uh give the guy a full season of 12-15 min worth of playing time/per game and then decide whether or not he is worthless...
What you perceive as people thinking he's a "star" is just us "rooting" him on. What we realy want from him (given earned minutes) is a 6/6/3 stat line, or something like that. Then later maybe a 10/7/3 stat line. Still a role player.
I was one of the guys rooting him on and still will. But his decisions suck as they did last year. Also I believe the Rockets drafted him for his shooting which has been subpar to say the least. I'm only being realistic. Do I want him to succeed. Hell yes. Should he be playing before Ryan or Bob probably not. I'll take him as a bench player nothing more nothing LESS!
Of course Boki is not a star. Right now, he is not even a good role player. What we need is someone to hit outside shots, and he is not doing that very well. He might be better at running, slashing but everyone in this league can do that if they get an open lane to the basket and a perfect pass. Most every PG, SF is also faster than him too. 6 pts, 6 rebs, 3 assists? He has not shown he deserves 20 mins/ game. He might get 10-12 mins a game and he is not gonna get that kind of stat.
everyone here has the image that boki is a pure 3-point shooter. So let's put all that to rest now, that isn't his strength. Just because Rudy said he hit 30 or whatever amount of 3's in a row doesn't make him a Peja. Boki's strength is driving to the basketball and slashing. but he's been working very hard probably at the 3's because that's probably what is needed from him in this offense. I just feel bad for the guy because i know he's a lot better than what's he's shown in the past. I just wish he can get over the nervousness and just relax and let the game come to him.
Me too. I know he's not just a 3 point shooter BUT what other kind of shots does he get. We dont need another slasher, actually thats the last thing we need. He was hyped up as a SHOOTER be it 3 or 2. I just want him to make a shot. He just looks lost when he has the ball.....
I just hope he can contribute to Jeff's system. Unfortunately there are a bunch of Boki's in the NBA. What makes him different? PLEASE show me something! If not, S*** or get of the pott!!! Ya Know what I'm saying!!!!!
