Roughly 110 hours left of the worst presidency in history. Unfortunately, it will be with us for the rest of our lives. Here's a decent summary from Froomkin: Anyone organizing a viewing party for the Farewell Address tonight? Didn't think so.
I was watching that b**** Bill O'Reilly on FOX last night, what a Bush apologist... There was another guy on there (a Democrat) who was trying to state the evidence for Bush's war crimes, but Bill wouldnt let him get a word in. And this other guy who agreed with Bill was given about 3 times as much time to speak during the segment than the Democrat. I felt like puking.
I do blame him for at least exacerbating every problem, including the climate crisis, which is related to the weather. So, I agree with your post.
The thing that annoyed me about O'Reilly, and seems to be the prevailing agenda of FOXNews channel as a whole, is that he decrees that Bush did the right thing by America. He protected Americans. He made America a safer place (which is debatable anyway). Fark the rest of the world, dont care whether innocent people die in droves in Afghanistan/Iraq - hell - anywhere as long as its in America's interests. How self centred and arrogant ....
Sorry, but it can't be an accident when a President manages to lose 2 wars (one of which he started for domestic political gain), endanger capitalism as we know it, ignore civil rights, disregard the Constitutional balances, stomp on a century of bi-partisan foreign policy, and promote the same crimes for which we prosecuted Germans and Japanese after WWII. You have to work to accomplish such a list, and that's just some of the big stuff. The smaller stuff, like basing policy on ideology instead of science, corrupting the integrity of the Justice Department, and appointing people based on loyalty instead of competence would be a much longer list. Give me 5 things that the administration has done that had a good outcome. I"ll give you two off the bat: Pacific Ocean preserve and African Aids (though I'm not entirely sold on the latter, I'll give it to you). So, you only need to come up with three more.
Easy. 1. Successfully prevented any terrorist attacks on US soil after 9/11. He kept us safe. 2. Cut my taxes 3. Killed Saddam Hussein You liberals are blinded by hate.
You are blinded by an inability to get facts straight. 1. There were terrorist attacks on American soil after 9/11. There were a string of anthrax attacks in Washington DC against govt. officials. But I find it odd that in the other thread you were upset at the govt. for spending money on the inauguration(the blame goes to Bush who signed off on it.) and now you are defending the person who would spend those tax dollars in this troubled economy. Make up your mind.
1. Failed to prevent 9/11 and/or neutralize the 2nd and 3rd plane. Used 9/11 to take away many of your Constitutional rights. 2. Used your tax dollars to fund an illegal Halliburton war that almost everyone in the country opposes. 3. Killed an evil man who had no ties to WMD and had no provable link to Al Qaeda. With that having been said, I see a much worse upcoming 4 years than the past 8.
1. 9/11 was planned during Clinton's reign 2. "halliburton war" nice job of using the liberal talking points. Halliburton = devil man!!!11 dumb. 3. Saddam used chemical weapons on his own people, killing 5,000 kurds. Does that not count? too easy
How come he didn't do anything after he took over. It happened on his watch. I don't see how anyone can say he did a sparkling job of protecting us from terrorism, when 9/11 happened on his watch. He's planning attacks on Saddam, while Al Qaeda is taking flying lessons on US soil.
