..and already getting the rest of mine to my poor friends. I honestly am about to tear my eyes out watching this team. For my own mental health I've decided not to renew my tickets next year. I can put up with the crap service at the stadium, the sad sack fan atmosphere, the insanely high prices. All of it - I can deal with all of it - IF the product on the court is good. It is not. If & when we get a team worth a damn, I'll go get some scalped club seats and check them out. This is sooooooo not worth what I paid, soooooooo not worth all the hype, and sooooo not worth all the time & excitement I put into it before the season. I'm gonna ditch the remainder of my tix, and just sit in a bar to watch this sad sack team. At least that way, even as we lose, it won't be off of 6 dollar beers. It is so not worth my entertainment or fan dollar to put anymore into this team. I paid almost 2000 bucks for this? Never again. Fire JVG. Fire CD. Fire our trash role players & bench. A pack of squirrels & the homeless people in the park across from Toyota Center could do a better job running a franchise & putting a winning NBA product together. WE HAVE LOST TO THE EXPANSION BOBCATS TWICE NOW! This with last year's scoring champ, "the best center in the west," and the "best" defensive coach in the NBA! We are NOT a good team. We are NOT a team trying "to gel." We are simply a crap team. Vent, vent, vent...
As much as I feel your pain (I was at the game today), if you are not going to use your tickets this season, I will gladly take them off your hands.
Sadly, Im starting to lean that way. And I have been a ticket holder for a long, long time. I love Yao and T-mac, Mutumbo and JJ. But the lack of effort and slow down playing style is killing it for me. Every time I pass by the Compaq Center I tear up. NBA League pass here I come.
Les this is painful. Do you hear the fan base yet? Kinda like having your proctologist work on your hemorrhoids without the benefit of anesthesia.
Funny I have been feeling the same way but have a hard time turning my back on the team. I have to fight to watch a whole game. They are going to have to really make some changes for me to buy tickets next year.
I think I'm done with this team for the rest of the season. It's not that I'm a bandwagon fan. I love the NBA and I love the Rockets. And I've watched some pretty crappy teams throughout the years. But I just can't get past the fact that this current group of players and coaches doesn't DESERVE my attention. I'm just thankful I haven't spent any money this year on tickets or merchandise.
Im considering not renewing next season either. Hopefully we'll be a better team, but as long as JVG is coach, I doubt it.
I'll take some of those tix. I like to inflict pain onto myself. Urgh, this team is starting to grind on me though. At least I've started to make my way through games by laughing my ass off at all the ways we've managed to freaking lose games this year. Yesterday I was thinking, "Well, at least that fullcourt hailmary was to Brezec, and hit the layup....he's on my fantasy team " I'm so ashamed.
I wouldn't renew if JVG is still here next season, even when we win, I still have a bad taste in my mouth.
I KNOW I am not renewing my tix next year. Jeff Van r****d has taken all the joy away from my beloved Rockets.
I was just asking, because you seem fond of the word "r****d" figured you must be young enough to not know any better
Then you must be fond of reading all my posts? I dont post that much. And I am only fond of using the word "r****d" when I am talking about a r****d like our Jeff Van r****d. I dont know of any other r****ds. figured you must be young enough to not know any better [/QUOTE] PC be damned when you are talking about a prime grade r****d like our coach. Hell even the mentally challenged folks would be able to coach the Rockets better then the r****d we have.
re·tard1 ( P ) Pronunciation Key (r-tärd) v. re·tard·ed, re·tard·ing, re·tards v. tr. To cause to move or proceed slowly; delay or impede. Also . 1)A slowing down or hindering of progress; a delay. 2)A slackening of tempo. Jeff Van r****d is The Truth.
This is SAD that we have Tmac (NBA leading scorer superstar) & Yao Ming (next great center, worldwide superstar) and yet WE CAN'T SELL OUT!! I mean Miami got Shaq and up n coming Wade and they're breaking franchise record in attendence, with talks of raising ticket prices. Put them in Houston and we'll still avg. 14,000 per game.
It's not as if I won't WATCH or CHEER for them anymore - I'm just done paying my hard earned money into the organization when the management hasn't done a good job, and all of the players except for two seem not to care anymore. I keep saying to myself that they honestly can't suck this bad, but I'm realizing that they REALLY, REALLY do! Maybe some of you who haven't been to the games don't understand this - But IT"S NOT THE SAME anymore. There is ZERO energy. Blame it on JVG's style, or the players' apathy, or the journeymen & dregs CD has brought in, but the games are boring as hell now. Better to spend the 100 bucks or so my 2 seats cost + parking costs on one hell of a bartab... Hell, that way I can drink into the 4th quarter.
