we all have been enamored with this trade scenario lately........

we have been trippin becuz it has been to quiet around here........and its a mutual feeling that.....we need at least a tweak for us to not be first round and out again......

so what gives.....morey cold feet...or..we playing good scared to mess up chemistry.....

we all know we have a owner that is allergic to the luxury tax.....so that might be the reason........

but honestly did anyone ever stop to think that we have a owner that has greenlighted many huge trades since he been here and is not scared to pull a big trigger.......he will do it.....so why has he not????

my reasoning is this.....lets take the last 4 huge houston trades...........only one has yielded results...........

#1 the drexler trade.....seemed to work out.........

#2 the barkley trade nuthin....zilch....we know how that ending up

#3 pippen trade......another zero in the biggest since of the word

And last but not least #4 the T-MAC trade.........has also yielded zero results

so in the last blockbusters done under the Les Alexander regime.....only one has panned out

1/4 is only a 25% ratio....and we all know we have a numbers guy for a GM...........

we all know we need to do something.....but maybe just maybe its les thats holding this all up.............just some food for thought  :( ;)

Barkley and Pippen were both Veterans, Artest is like 28. And you know Artest is going to help. I don't see why people are so high on Brooks either. Artest is also one of the best defenders in the NBA. He would also put us up there as a contender.

I know Les wants to save money, but if he wants to win now, this is the chance.

if we do pull the trigger for Artest we most likely wont become championship caliber over night, it would take a year to gel and find out whose place was what, but guess what, artest can walk after this season and hold out for a max contract from some desperate saps like the wolves or hawks, so unless his mind is on championship, which it isnt, and he's willing to take less money AND an extension, which he isnt, then it aint happenin

no doubt but in terms of making us a championship or yielding championships we have been next to nuthin......and we all know at the end of the day thats what he asking morey and adelman.....

Is this gonna take us over the top for a ring...if not.........

i agree...i think artest is a no brainer if we can get him........i would do it in a ny minute.......its not me.....

but its pretty obvious that the rockets upper management is a little reluctant to pull the trigger......so i am just sayin that might be a reason

hell i am just nervous cuz 3pm tomorrow is coming like the grim reaper and if we dont make at least some type of tweak.....regardless of how well we are playin....come playoff time we are toast.....plain and simple.........

cant expect to rely on rooks come playoffs.....not a great recipe to upset san antonio or phoenix.........

The conjecture will be over within a day. The second guessing will continue for years.

How can you say that the TMAC trade yielded no results??

It is true that we have yet to break out of the first round, but you have to look at the big picture:

IMHO if we held onto Stevie, we would have ended up NOWHERE and be in a ridiculous position today, w/ the present-day Stevie (who is a shadow of his former self). By pulling the trigger, we ended up with a great combo who CAN contend for a much longer time period than a Steve-Yao combo!

BTW: those fo you who think we could have traded Steve for someone other than TMAC are lying to yourselves; you know we committed a crime w/ that trade!

Cassell and Horry weren't too bad that one year.

Seriously. What's up with all these ignorant threads.

All GMs in the NBA find it difficult to pull the trigger, because oftentimes their first mistakes will be the root of their termination. Even then, that does NOT mean that just one specific GM (i.e. Morey, in our case) has cold feet; it takes at least two parties to make a trade, and the other GM has to be willing to trade, too.

Besides matching talent, matching salaries provides another barrier for trades.

We have way too many "IMMA IGNORENT NBA FAN!!!1" threads, they're suffocating the actual quality and informative threads. If Houston Rockets basketball is pissing you off, go get a job, read a book, do something productive.
