I applaud the effort and the idea behind this, but... c'mon. Save your energy for a fight that you have a chance of winning, people.

Unless Canada or Mexico decides to do something exceedingly strange we're at 50 effectively for good.

True, but it's really difficult to change at this point. What chance do you think that there is that a liberal Senate will allow a new conservative state to branch off from a blue one? Or a conservative House to allow D.C. its statehood, for that matter?

We're probably stuck with 50 for the forseeable future.

 

The stars fit well on the flag, 51 would be a problem.
