I'm assuming the Houston sports radio stations will carry it. Can somebody post the link to some of the local sports stations that have audio feeds? The audio feeds in the "Clutch Radio" link on the front page might carry it as well. CC.net is saying the deal is done though.
Unfortunately 610 am is the sports radio station and their website is down so there is no cyberfeed for them and due to some rights issues the news radio station, 740 am does not have a live feed either. I can't get any radio stations in my office in the middle of this pile of glass and steel.
610 didn't have anything. espnnews, cnn/si, and nba.com tv had nothing as well. At about 12:45 KRIV's newswoman said the press conference was over and that Rice was a Rocket.
Rice is a Rocket. Picks exchanged. here's the wire link from Sporting News:http://www.sportingnews.com/nba/articles/20010817/336638.html
guys, Clutch broke the news on the frontpage www.clutchcity.net/rockets.cfm at 11:50am I saw the update happen. It had one notice up since 7am, then it changed at 11:50am. He obviously got an email or phone call from his sources.
As probably most of us expected, we accepted the trade. What probably all of us want to know is the "future considerations" part of this trade.
I read the front page! I would have liked to hear the press conference though, but couldn't find it anywhere. Mark Cuban was scheduled to be on Rome, but couldn't make it. Listening to guys call in and try to act like the host has gotten, ah, well old over the past 4 years. Anyway, OP, does picks exchanged mean we gave up a pick for a better one?
The Sporting News Flash also said done deal, and future considerations from both teams. I hope the considerations come out soon.
The deal is done. The "future considerations" are just that...future considerations. No names were mentioned. I was also told the Rockets doctor (Lowe?) said no surgery is expected and would be an absolute last resort. Rice is expected to be ready for the start of the season. Now let's get Moochie, Griffin and Terrence signed. Old School
Well crispee if that is true, and you would have looked at the time of our posts, you would saw that RocketScientist posted AT 11:48am, and I posted at 11:50 a.m. It's not exactly easy to be looking at the front page AND posting on the BBS at the same time Clutch is uploading the information.
RocketsMillenium, Now look at you post at 11:50am. You said nothing would happen. When in fact, something was happening at the front page, and that very same time hehe....nevermind me, I'm just giving this thread the business....while trying to make sure Clutch gets the props he deserves for being first to press. This thread continues to report later breaking news that might very well have been retrieved from Clutch's news. I mean, look at OPs link from sportingnews vs Clutch's text. Looks pretty damn identical to me. And before someone says the Clutch might have got it from another news service, instead....have you ever know him not to give props to other sites. props to Clutch for being first to press!!!
I was going on the assumption that if he hadn't heard anything yet, he wasn't going to hear anything until the press conference. usually when Clutch or someone hear something about a trade, it would have leaked out by now. You have to admit this one was real secretive, why assume Clutch would hear something from a source 10 minutes before a press conference?
ummmm, Clutch knew about the trade 48 hours before it was announced last week and 24 hours before it was first "leaked" by FOX tv. I know this for a fact, because he is nice enough to warn me about server stampedes without telling me the leak, so I can be on hand when news breaks....not IF, but WHEN!!! This whole last week was continuously scooped by Clutch. Unfortunately, his sources would not allow him to leak the original news last Wednesday, and he not needing to advance his career with this (he's just a fan like us) decided to hold back, which he told us later. Fact is: Clutch had this whole thing scooped, including today. And we aren't giving him credit he deserves. Much worse, you are admitting to "assuming" that Clutch COULD NOT scoop news like this. sad sorry guys....I just really feel for Clutch on this one. He was held back by journalistic ethics and concern for not blowing the deal for the Rockets.
