That neck injury looked really serious. Although it is not a Rockets player, I still hope and wish that it is not career-threatening. FYI for those not watching, in the Rockets summer league game 4, Nolan Smith on the Portland Trailblazers injured his neck with less than a minute to play. Game was ended early because of it and he was carried off on a stretcher. Hope for the best.
I know. For basketball and football, one bad position and the career can be over. It is never deserved.
@ChrisBHaynes Zoran Dragic went up to block Nolan Smith's shot but came down and hit Smith's head on the way down.
Thats not what happened, Smith smashed his forehead into the padding on the base of the hoop after the foul. Looks like he could have avoided it like most players do. You have to wonder why you seen so often players just ram into these pads a la Kyrie Irving- its not like that padding makes everything safe, its still steel like 2.5 inches deep Note - he was moving his legs and stuff after words, and he walked from under the hoop to about 10 feet away from the basket to lay down on the floor.
Man he was out cold before he ever hit the padding. I saw it live and he was a hurt puppy dog. I hope he is OK.
I hope the kids alright, I hate to see anyone get injured....the only thing is that watching the replay its hard to tell how he really got hurt...the announcers kept saying he hit his head on the padded support, but it didnt look like he hit it that hard?? Either way, i hope he is ok.
Yeah, I've watched the replay a few times, and it's just so odd. Probably the equivalent of a "stinger" in football, and I would hope he'll be just fine. Was having a pretty good game too.
