I've been trying to get my hands on those white "Be part of something big" clappers/noisemakers for the last few games, but no luck as of yet.
I asked around at the game and people/rockets staff said they give them out to people behind the goals & large group ticket sales.

Try telling that to a 8 year old that wants to make some noise. So a few gulps and $11.50 later we had our own Bud Lite noise makers.

So anyone know how to get a hold of those noise makers when you're in the cheap seats and without having to pay strip club drink prices?

Are you talking about the baloon looking noisemakers? From what I've seen they Rockets don't care if the people in the cheap seats make any noise. When I've been they are just handed out to those sitting the the expensive seats behind the goals.

I do remember the littler hand shaped clappers being handed out to everyone before a playoff game once.

Yup.. I've seen them give them out to folks behind the backboards and this past Saturday night 12/7, they gave some out to a large group that was seated in the upper bowl...

If you've seen them up close, they are basically just really thick ballons with a self closure at the bottom (so the air doesn't escape)...

If the Organization wanted everyone to make noise, they would hand them out at the door to everyone. But of course that would be costly to do at every game... but it's also silly to just give them out behind the backboards...maybe the Organization can sell them for like a $2 a pair during the games... that work better than giving away before a game... if you go to more than one game, you can use them several times... I think they should sell them...

Hopefully Tim from Marketing will reply soon...

    Those are the ones.

That's too bad that they don't sale them or give them out at the door 4 free.

    Nose-Bleeders wanna be heard too!

(btw, thanx for replying..thought this thread was gonna put up a goose egg.)

I've been trying to get some too!! If you go down to the lower deck just after the game, there are some available that people leave behind, but I've never been there quickly enough.

They ought to give them out before the game starts, not necessarily to everyone, but to the first thousand fans or something like that.

edit (hadn't read every post): That is a FABULOUS idead rockHEAD. I'd buy a pair for that price, as long as I can bring them into the arena over and over again.

Timely thread -- we're actually working with FMI (the company that sells merchandise at Compaq Center -- we don't control it directly) to sell the bangers on the concourse.

We're just trying to work out the final details, but that shouldn't be hard since we aren't trying to make any money on this. FMI will want to make their cut (and they should; that's how they make their living), but we'd rather keep prices low and just get them in people's hands.

They had those red clappers last year for Hakeem's return in March and those were great. Really got people in it, and I hope they do that again. They gave like 10,000 and it was packed in the Laptop. Love to see those again Tim!
