3-27-09 Game Thread New Orleans @ New York -- This game should be interesting, I think the Hornets are a pretty good team and can pull this out especially with the Knicks struggling the way they are. I don't know though, maybe the Knicks can pull an upset.. Go Knicks! Los Angeles Clippers @ San Antonio -- Well.. now with Duncan, Ginobili, and Parker all in the lineup, I don't know the Clippers really stand a chance, and it's also at San Antonio. I don't know if Duncan will play (he sat out their last game against Atlanta) but it shouldn't matter, they can beat the Clippers with Ginobili and Parker together. Still going for the Clippers though obviously, Go Clippers! Denver @ Dallas - Huge game here, I hope Dallas can take this game, it would push Denver another loss behind us since they have the same losses as us right now.. Dallas is at home and they have been rolling at home lately so hopefully they win, Go Mavs! (ugh)
I'm going with all the home teams for this batch. The Knicks are in a funk but I don't think the Hornets will score enough points to win this one. CP3 could pick up a tech or two in this game out of frustration.
I'm going to ask you a question, just what your honest opinion. I know I don't put a lot of work into these threads, but do you appreciate them? And if you do, would you want me to add more insight/info about the games, and other info etc?
I think they're great. I actually look forward to them. No need to add anything. Keep it simple and let the discussion begin.
The Knicks just aren't playing well enough to beat the Hornets. They are on a 6-game losing streak and are in complete sink-mode. Spurs will obviously beat the Clippers. I think the Nuggets will beat the Mavs.
1st game- It's a toss up, nearly every Hornets game seems to come down to the last 5-6 minutes. Hope the Knicks can get a win at home. 2nd game- Would be nice if the Clips could pull off the huge upset... 3rd game- I hope Dallas can pull it off at home, Denver is right there with us so Dallas can help us out a bit.
oh great, another night without the rockets. first 2 matchups are one sided, so imo blowouts for NO and spurs. obviously i want dallas to win, but watching denver the other night, they were playing damn good, even without nene. but we'll see
I love having these threads to talk about the non-Rocket games that effect us even though I don't participate every night. There's a lot smarter conversation in the NBA Dish than in GARM.
Sorry, I have to. It looks the Knicks are going to take this and CP3 with the tech. I figured if the Hornets were losing, Paul might lose it.
i've watched the entire NO v. NY game and I have to say that the hornets are incredibly full of themselves. Everytime they don't get a call they b**** and moan about it, Posey even got ejected after throwing the ball at the ref. All the players are playing like they're Lebron or Kobe and deserve special treatment, it's kind of funny how good they think they are.
i agree. a lot of the b****ing and moaning about stupid stuff is not here in this section. after a game ends, there's no "is SA better without parker and duncan?"
Is anybody watching the Nuggets-Mavs game? Birdman had an incredible sequence of blocks. He stuffs Dirk and gets elbowed in the ribs. The Mavs get the offensive board and Terry drives to the basket. Birdman is leaning over in pain but gets up to block Terry. Dirk gets the ball and goes in for a third time. Birdman is bent over holding his ribs once again but he's able to get up and block Dirk as the shot clock expires. I'm not sure if he got credited with that 3rd block but it was amazing either way. I don't like the dude much but he definitely adds some value on the defensive end.
Looks like the Birdman finally took flight Wasn't really expecting the Hornets to lose tonight. Pleasant surprise there.
I forgot. Birdman grabs offensive boards, too. He's a nice blue collar type player for any team willing to take a risk on him.
