Noah evidently pissed off at Wallace for laughing and yuckking it up on the bench while the Bulls were taking a pasting by the Orlando Magic. Funny enough that after the two game suspension by his teammates of Noah, that the press is firmly behind Noah on this one. The locker room chemistry of the Bulls if not destroyed before is pretty much decimated now. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/7430...ottiweb.article "So there was Ben Wallace, $60 million waste, laughing on the bench Tuesday night in Orlando. The Bulls were on their way to another hapless, character-less loss, and Big Bum was having such a good time...." http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagot...c-apples-s.html "Some of those veterans were caught on camera yukking it up as they were getting humiliated by 22 points in that third quarter -- specifically Ben Wallace and Joe Smith. OK, maybe it was out of context, even for a Hall-of-Fame hypocrite such as Wallace. But no. It wasn't out of context. In fact, it was evidence of Wallace as the poster child for this gutless team....." Harsh town, Chicago.
Sorry, the above links didn't work. Here are the links that do work. http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/rosenblog/2008/01/atomic-apples-s.html http://www.suntimes.com/sports/743064,011608mariottiweb.article
Big Ben was the worst thing that ever happened to the Bulls. The Bulls are paying him for what he did in Detroit.
Regardless of his subpar play, Big Ben would have torn Noah to pieces. Rook needs to learn to pick and choose his battles.
There is a definite opportunity there if another team could figure out how to relieve the Bulls of Big Ben. It just is way too much contract to eat at the moment. Maybe Zeke in the past might have given it a shot, but it seems like his Trader days are over with.
I didn't want to jump to conclusions in the previous Noah thread. I have a soft spot for those Gators, the 6 guys who won the National Championship (this includes 6th man Chris Richards, in case you were wondering) 2 years in a row and brought many good times to me, my friends, and the entire town of Gainesville. So I thought my perception would be clouded (probably still is to some extent) and I tried to make an opinion based strictly on the facts. But here's what I was really thinking: Wallace has been a slacker in Chicago since the first day he got there. He knows his perception isn't exactly great in Chicago. So now a rookie steps out of line, and it's a great opportunity to look like you actually care and are a professional. "Let's make an example of the rookie and make ourselves look better." Which is why I also commented in the other Noah thread that Ben should be the last guy talking about reprimanding someone else. I won't deny Noah shouldn't be yelling at coaches. But at least the guy wants to win. You can hate his screaming and pounding his chest, but I don't have any doubt the guy wants to win more then anyone else on the court. Need I remind anyone that we have doubts about a certain guy...rhymes w/ Big Mac...at least you have to respect someone's heart for the game. So no one should challenge Wallace because he could beat them up? If Ben feels the need to actually throw punches, he's the one who needs to man up and act like a grown adult. Earning his money would be a great place to start.
Regarding the Bulls vs. Heat game on ESPN: Why is ESPN still televising these game? I mean who really wants to watch two losing teams play? They might as well televise a Hawks vs. Bobcats game or something.
Good question. I'm only now watching because of said drama and Noah. Maybe ESPN already tied themselves down to certain games before the season starts. You have to admit a Heat/Bulls game would sound good before the season started.
Tell me about it! I'm stuck in a hotel in Miami trying to get Portland at Boston but my connection here is awful.
why bash noah? im glad he's stading up for himself. i got a lot of respect for him now. at least he has the passion to play to win, while wallace gets entitlement minutes
Wow! The Atomic Apples piece was merciless. I think the writer has a point. He said they should bench Wallace for the rest of the season. They can't trade him. It's getting pretty obvious that he's a cancer in the locker room. He's laughing it up on the bench during a horrific third quarter. What the heck? If he doesn't play the rest of the year, perhaps this summer teams will start thinking that he's worth something, because they haven't seen him for awhile. You have to feel sorry for the Bulls. Not the owner, but all the players, except Wallace, and the staff. Boylan is a nice guy stuck in a train wreck. Wow.
Mark my equation, which will fully come to pass in good time. = check their comparative stats sometime... NBA and college.
