I hope the games better than he is. dont they know that not that many people have bought into all the vince carter hype by now. I suppose that they can make him a real star on the game with all his abilities and all but they cant give him the heart of a champion.

wtf? You should all know the reason why EASPORTS chose VC as the cover boy, and that is because they KNOW he will SELL.

No matter who is playing better now, Carter has been the most marketable player in the past few seasons.

I agree, and I loved that game, even if it was ridiculously easy.

I think Live 96 on the Genises was the best because you could get the created players by just typing in their names, then their attributes would automatically appear. It does not get much better than that

Besides, in live 95, you could only trade the starters for each team.

Definitely. Sega's graphics were worse and it didn't have the cool music SNES did either.

correct me if i am wrong but wasnt VC on the inside drive 2002 cover box? dont players have to sign certain contracts for them to appear on the cover box or be a spokesperson of the company? i remember back in the sega days when plays like shaq and barkley had contracts they werent in the games at all, but i think the nba changed that rule. but back to my original point, is that allowed or did VC just sign a new thing with EA?

i am waiting for the moochie norries cover box now hopefully live 2005 or better yet espn/nba 2k4

Although pointless, here's the official announcement:

    http://www.easports.com/articles/04a/carteranthony.jsp

EA SPORTS Drafts Vince Carter and
    Carmelo Anthony for 2004 Lineup

Electronic Arts signed deals with four-time NBA All-Star Vince Carter and third NBA draft pick Carmelo Anthony to serve as spokesmen for EA SPORTS™ basketball products scheduled for release this fall.

Carter will appear on packaging and merchandising for NBA LIVE 2004, which in its tenth season is ranked as the best-selling basketball videogame of all-time. And Anthony, who led Syracuse University to the 2003 NCAA® Men’s Basketball Championship, will serve as spokesman and cover athlete for NCAA March Madness™ 2004.

Carter, who enters his sixth NBA season this fall with a career scoring average of 24.1 points per game, was selected fifth overall in the 1998 NBA Draft. His high-flying dunks and acrobatic play have made him one of the league’s most dazzling superstars since he burst onto the scene and won 1998-99 Schick Rookie of the Year honors. Carter was selected to the 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003 NBA All-Star games, leading all players in votes received three times. Carter was also selected to the All-NBA Second Team (2000-01), the All-NBA Third Team (1999-2000), and represented the United States at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, where he averaged a team-high 14.8 points per game en route to the gold medal.

“Being a part of the EA SPORTS team is a tremendous honor and a terrific moment in my basketball career,” Carter said. “As a longtime gamer, it’s a thrill to be asked to represent the Freestyle Revolution that EA SPORTS has brought to NBA LIVE.”

Fresh off leading Syracuse to the national title as a freshman, Anthony will appear on the cover of NCAA March Madness 2004. A second-team All-America selection after averaging 22.2 points and 10.0 rebounds per game, Anthony guided the Orangemen to their first NCAA men’s basketball championship last April. He was named the Most Outstanding Player of the 2003 NCAA Final Four and was the Consensus National Freshman of the Year. Anthony was selected by the Denver Nuggets with the third overall pick in the June NBA Draft.

“There’s no better way to celebrate last year’s national championship than to represent Syracuse and EA SPORTS on the cover of NCAA March Madness 2004,” Anthony said. “This game is so unique because it brings fans all the excitement, tradition, and strategy of college basketball that I was fortunate to experience last year. It’s a great accomplishment for me to be able to appear on the cover of this game cutting down the nets from the Final Four.”

I think I'm more interested in NCAA MM '04. I might get it, depending on reviews. If it's as good as the reviews and testimonials (from you guys) for NCAA Football '04, I'll look into it.

As it is, I will probably end up with ESPN 2k4, but I'm not one for game play; I'm more of a graphics guy for some reason. I do know that Live will have ALL retro jerseys (including Rockets; definitely NOT pjs).
