what happened to the poll on the front page that has more than half of everyone wanting to draft ming. it seems like all of you would rather trade the pick now? its a big risk but isnt it an exciting one.
you people actually want odem or mcdyess. cmon....
neither of them are worth what this guy could be potentially in addition to the worldwide attention it could bring our team.
im seriously thinking more about being a popular franchise again in this league over winning right now this year. but i also think that just taking ming with the first pick will combine winning (eventually) and popularity.
cmon damn it, no more trades.
ming ming ming ming ming ming ming ming ming ming
who still wants him? id take another poll but i dont know how.
i really think more of you want a trade now than before.
    who still wants ming?
    :(

I am sick of losing and would like to get to the next level. Ming may or may not get us there. I wish that management would do whatever they can in their power to get a sure thing. No substancial risks for me please.

    Huh? Who cares about popularity?

Let's get someone who can play.

take the risk he CAN play.
    no trades.
the rockets need to take this risk RIGHT NOW.
no one gives a damn about this team the way it is right now.
and adding lamar odem is not going to help us win. itll be just more flash with more losses. and more suspended pot heads.
    take the risk.
bring in the fans to the freak show.
bring in the freak 7'5 footer.
    no trades.
this franchise is a dud right now. the worst of times. and ming is the only way to fix it.
NO MORE TRADES. just take him.

    :(

    He is right, take Ming.

Too much upside. We can get most of what we want without giving up the #1.

Lots of possibilities. I just hope we don't give up our rights to YM.

I have three words for you Holden.
COULD BE POTENTIALLY......you said it yourself.
I don't want to hear about what this guy could be potentially.
The Rockets don't need presumed talent, they need proven talent.

Come on, do you think a rookie can give any team a ring? That is too GREEDY!

Proven player? All-star level? That would be a dream.

I still hope we get the Odom trade. And pick Nickoloz Tskitishvili with the #8 or #12. Talk about potential, this kid has more potential then Ming.

I agree with Holden. TAKE MING!

What to do with 1#? If we want the answer, we should first ask: what do we really want?

    1) if we want fast and certain improvement, OK, trade 1#. We will have good playoff contender team for some years, but nothing more, IMO.

    2) if we dream about champions' ring, we shouldn't trade this pick.
It will be hard and risky way, but if you want win, you just have to risk.(do you remeber LA Lakers trading good players to get Shaq = it was risk, but it has been successful)

I think, that getting Ming with 1# and Nachbar with 15# will be perfect. If you want to be successful, get foreign players (look at Sacramento and Dallas).:)

I doesn't matter where they come from, just get the best player. Everybody agrees with this I think. Many of you complain about the risks with Yao and that we no to little about him. I don't know any more than you but I'm shure Rudy and Carrol knows a lot more.

To become a contender we need a good 5 or a real superstar at any other position. We won't get a superstar for the #1, but we can get Ming.
