It's hard to remember a bunch of names.

Kelvin Cato (the K is for his first name, arseholes)
Pig Miller (his real name is Anthony)
Jason Collier (pay attention to the double 'l')
    Kenny Thomas (not Kurt)
Tyronne Washington (two 'n's in his first name? We may never know unless he signs)
Carlos Rogers (no 'd' before the 'g' in Rogers)
Hakeem Olajuwon (not 'Olajuwan' you dorks)

Hell, even Matt Bullard and Walt Williams have played up here in the spirit of fun & small lineups. If Dan Langhi were 15-20 lbs. heavier, I'm sure he'd get time at the four at some point.

That's 10 potential players at the 4/5. And the Rockets might be able to sign Mo Taylor too?

    Shore it up.

Dream: A 10p/8r/2b game in 25 minutes would be outstanding. However, if you even show up at training camp I don't see you making it to the season's hump.

Kenny Thomas: Trade him. He's not going to get enough minutes if Mo comes. He could be a focal point given no other opportunities 'cause hell there's always a chance that he might do something. What was there to lose last year anyway?

Matt Bullard: Place him on IR and tell him to work on his play by play commentary. It's not as painful as 'the waive'... and besides he's an icon for Rimbaud & CriscoKidd.

Pig Miller: The tough call. I wish somebody would make a highlight reel of Pig Miller moments w/ the Angela's Ashes soundtrack. It'd be very moving. But what also should be moving... is Pig Miller. If he's okay w/ the IR though (after 12/15 Dream will be down anyway), then the Rockets should be okay w/ him.

Jason Collier: You don't deserve to be in the 12... but you fit the theme.

    T. W.: Welcome to the IR. You haven't done anything to deserve anything else.

Rogers: Injury prone & history of every ailment known to man has stricken his immediate family. A trade would take care of the 'not on my watch' issues. However, he's a great swingman, and bio-ethics still demand we don't discriminate against someone b/c of their genetic predisposition to not make it through the day. Welcome to the 12.

    The 12:
PG - Steve Francis, Moochie Norris
SG - Shandon Anderson, Cuttino Mobley
SF - Walt Williams, Dan Langhi, Rogers
PF - Mo Taylor, Jason Collier, KT (first round pick anyone?), Rogers
C - Dream, Cato, Collier, Rogers

    IR - Matt Bullard
    IR - Anthony Miller
IR - Does T.W. get this far?

    Thoughts?

HEB has joined the "goodbye Kenny Thomas club"! Let's think of it this way: Mo Taylor et. al don't consider Kenny Thomas a starting PF (thinks/knows starting PF spot in Houston is available). A package of Bryce and Kenny wouldn't be bad. If the Clippers hadn't already signed 14/15 players, I'd think they'd be interested in them. I think Boston may be interested in Bryce or Kenny by chance?

First of all I think Washington should make the team even if it comes down to either him or Pig.Tyronne reminds me alot of Outlaw. Now for KT,right now KT is are starting power forward but if we do pick up Taylor he can be a really good back up and he can provide some minutes against the bigger small forwards.I agree KTs minutes will go down with the addition of Taylor thats obvious but what if injurys accure and someone has to step up,we should at least see if Collier pans out first.

Good post Achebe. I'd agree with you for the most part.

I'm not sure about Hakeem. Maybe I'm just being sentimental, but if he's really fixed his respiratory problems, I think he could be a more than adequate center this year. I don't think that 14 and 8 is completely out of the picture. I'm crossing my fingers [IMG]. I wouldn't hope for an entire season, but if he can play 60 games and be well-rested for the playoffs with a week-off at the end, I'll be happy.

The only other point where I really disagree with you is KT. He came in as an unheralded rookie, and played some good games. He has great passing skills for a big man, a fair jump shot, and a nice spin move. He might not have put up great #'s at the RMR, but he just *looked* good in the games that I saw, even if the shots weren't falling.

Oh, and you forgot Mo Fo [IMG]! (thank god)

I really like Pig. Somehow I hope he makes the 12 man roster.

    Thanks haven. [IMG]

I was just looking back through the lineup and realized that I completely forgot about Bryce Drew. OOPS. If there are no trades that show up... that is if Mo does sign, then it's time for the fax to get busy.

As far as Kenny Thomas goes, I've been protecting him for some time now. I do think given enough time, that Kenny might become something of merit. I just do not see that time on the Rockets anymore if they get Mo. It's kind of an interesting twist: If the Rockets get Mo, then Kenny's out (the do), otherwise he's the starting PF. [IMG]

The things that Kenny offers (other than his horrendous shooting) include rebounding... and oh yeah, rebounding. Carlos Rogers averages adequate boards in fewer minutes, as does Pig Miller. Jason Collier led the ACC in rebounding and has a bigger body to throw picks and shoot the 15'er.

that is pretty much how I see the roster turning out HEB.

But I don't think anyone will be put on the IR. They'll probably just be cut. Houston could have put numerous players that they are still paying for on the IR(Maclean,Augmon,Shaw,Maloney) , but chose not to.

I don't see Collier getting that many minutes this season.
