Experts in Germany warn that the skimpy pants can damage skin and cause infections. Gynaecologists prefer women to wear traditional bigger knickers after seeing an “enormous” rise in patients reporting genital inflammation. Dr Thomas Gent said: “G-strings can abrade and injure the sensitive skin around the genital area — especially if they are too tight or made with badly stitched material.” He said friction caused by the “string” part of the underwear is the root of the problem. Dr Gent, of the Association of Gynaecologists in Hamburg, added that the damage caused “can aid the spread of bacteria and cause fungal infections”. Recent German studies found one in two women under 50 wear G-strings and most men find them sexy. But Mathias Geduhn, a spokesman for fashion chain H&M, revealed that big pants are making a comeback. He said: “The trend is turning to comfortable hot-pants and slips.” link

So it's not the g-string that is causing these abrasions and infection but poorly stitched and dirty g-strings. Just pay for the high quality g-strings then and keep yourself clean . YOur man will greatly appreciate it.
Since men are still widely expected to ask and pay, I think it is only fair for women to have a strip of fabric up their hoohah.
Wash your stuff and you won't have that problem, even sexier then g-strings is wearing nothing at all.
I personally don't really like G-strings. Not granny-panties, but there are some very sexy cuts that don't have to be shoved up in her stuff. I do think it's sexy to see the G-string coming up out the back of girls pants. But I still like something to the imagination. No panties is sext too.
