All our games will most likely be close because our offense is just not consistent enough to pull away from teams. We’re also able to stay close with elite teams because we have the players and defense to stay competitive. We really miss a true point guard and you have fat ***** posters here who have never really played organized basketball in their lives claiming that we will be ok without FVV or a true point guard.
This is 100% on Ime to fix, you can't win consistently with double big if one is not shooting 3s. Honestly Adams should be a backup. DD
Adams/Sengun is a situational thing and not an every game lineup. I don't know why Ime keeps insisting this lineup
After agreeing on the Durant trade, our first priority should have been acquiring a backup guard. Before DFS, Capela, Okagie, and re-signing Unc, Tate and Holiday. A lot of us here pointed it out way before Fred’s injury. The fact that we relied on Fred, Reed and Aaron as our back court was a red flag for our ambitions of being contenders. I don’t know, maybe once we start winning and the pressure will be lower, things will look different. But until then..
The Rockets offense was ass last year with FVV and that wouldnt change if he was healthy. The Rockets offense has been ass both years hes been here actually. The Rockets pace right now is the lowest its been in 15 years. You have Amen out there whose best offense is cutting and driving, KD who likes to operate in the mid range, Sengun with no space to operate on the block so hes playing like a stretch 4. Last year they were at least able to get out and run the break at times because Jalen. Amen, Dillon were all guys who pushed the pace. Last year we were one of the top teams in fast break points. This year, so far, we are near the bottom of the league in fast break points and its no secret why. You've got one guy in the starting lineup that wants to run and push it...Amen. Adams, durant, Sengun are not break runners and jabari is iffy... But on top of that we arent even killing teams on the board to be able to get out and run. They DO still need to figure out whats going on at the guard position and get that resolved, but they cannot make a trade until december so for now they need to go away from using so much double big and see how things work with more floor spacing and pace. We are waaaay too slow and plodding for a 2025 offense.
All of these guys are 'tough' guys. Ime has an obsession with toughness. But just putting out big tough guys out there doesn't necessarily mean that you are playing good or even though basketball. Real tough basketball (especially in 2025) is playing a functioning moving offense that wears out and demoralises the opponent imo.
True. What you described is pretty much Kerr’s philosophy, which gave the Warriors 4 chips in less than a decade. Ime “tough play” philosophy only got him to the finals once, where he lost to Kerr, despite the 22 Warriors roster was far less superior than 2015-2019 Warriors teams.
Pretty sure curry, durant, silver, foster, draymond, klay, iggy had a bit to do with those 4 titles. That said, obviously Ime is a horrid offensive coach but the whole idea of him was to be our mark jackson.
I agree that we can exclude the 17 and 18 titles. But it still leaves you with the 15 and 22 runs were pretty impressive. It’s an interesting question whether FO intends Ime to be our Mark Jackson, or whether they assume he is our Kerr. I guess that a lot will depend on how this season is gonna look. For the very least, he’s gotta make a better offensive philosophy, because we’re not blind and our offense under Ime always looked limited.
Were you around in 2015? The amount of help they got from the refs at the time was astounding. Not to mention every team they played was decimated. Rockets missing multiple starters and their 2nd best player tore his knee in game 1. Cavs with no love and kyrie played part of one good. What exactly is impressive about that? 21 and 22 titles for bucks/warriors only happened because all of the good teams got injured, covid shutdown messed up the league for a couple years.
The offense looks better when Reed is in there. Gonna have to deal with his defensive lapses because he's the (current) solution. Some of these rotations are straight up weird. There was one where none of Reed, Sengun and KD were on the court. People need to remove the blinders. KD has *not* looked good through 2 games so far. Closer to Luka/Trae than SGA/Steph. Empty calorie stats and just gives it up on the other end.
Ime is a dinosaur and we ****ed up giving him so much power and that extension. This guy does not value the parts of the game that matter, especially in this era. It’s kind of crazy how we thought we could be a good team with lack of good dribblers, passers, shooters and creators. However, we should be much better as in pre-season that ball managed to swing around the horn on more than one occasion. It is also on Stone, in hindsight he never managed to really get a gem besides Sengun. Amen was a consensual #4 pick and the rest have all not managed to be fundamentally sound at basketball in Jabari, Tari, Green and Cam. Then the other trio who are all out of the league in Garuba, Josh & TyTy. Reed is not it simply by being way too small and thin, which cannot be fixed. This does not even account for the attitude issues we’ve had with Josh, Tari and Cam as well as other young guys like KJ, Wood and KPJ. We attract knuckleheads and guys who just cannot shoot nor are good fundamentally.
It’s tough. FVV was the bridge. Should have been the connector of our young guys and the people we brought in this year, especially KD. right now it looks like a free flowing offense with whoever has the ball, no rhythm. Honestly a lifetime fitness team it’s very early but my expectations have fell.
