I am sick of watching this Rocket team play passive defense, they need someone who is MEAN and puts elbows in peoples heads, someone who has an attitude about playing defense, who always hustles, someone to bring the defensive intensity up a notch.

They need a David Wood type player.

It was a fricken layup drill out there, I was wrong, no way in hades does this team win 47 games.

Lotter bound yet again..with or without Francis.....

    Team Player Defensive breakdown.

Kelvin Cato - should be a bulldog, who cares if you foul out, play aggressive out there. Grade D-

Kenny Thomas - At least he plays with fire and tries hard on defense, he is somewhat over matched on some of the bigger players. Grade B

Glen Rice - Danny Ainge was right, Rice is done, he has no quickness at all, what a waste getting this guy, Walt is better and that is not saying much. Grade F

Steve Francis- As quick as he is, he should be a defensive nightmare, but guess what, he is a patsy on defense. Someone needs to tell him that it is not a mismatch at his position if the guy he guards get the same number of points as he does. Grade D

Cuttino Mobly - See above about Francis, another one who should be a lot better on defense. Grade D

Oscar Torres - A pleasant surprise, plays under control and hustles on defense, in fact hustles everywhere, our prima donnas could learn a lot from how he plays. Grade B+

Moochie Norris - Terrible, terrible....watches his man shoot far too often. Grade D

Walt Williams - Better then Rice, but not by much. Grade D

Kevin Willis - Short arms but hustles, sometimes is not smart on defensive positioning. Grade B-

Eddie Griffin - He gets pushed around a lot, but have not seen him in enough minutes to see if he can play defense or not, he looks tenative. Grade Incomplete

Terrance Morris - Lost, deer in headlights. Grade F

Dan Langhi - Lateral quckness is just not there, though he has not played this year enough to grade. Grade Incomplete

Tierre Brown - Who? Right ! Grade Incomplete

Jason Collier - Worlds longest rehab from arthoscopic surgery. Grade Incomplete.

These grades are on the defensive end only. This team is horrible, just horrible on defense. They don't get in anyone's face.

They need an attitude adjustment, hell the whole team needs a heart transplant, this is definitly NOT the heart of a champion.

    Dak,

Even if you don't give me a free copy of your game I still agree with you, although I did think mobes had improved his defense a fair bit.

I agree w/ everything Xcept one point you made. Mooch is not a decent defender. In fact, on several defense plays just tonite I consistently cringed every time he failed to close out on Bibby's and Jackson's jumpshots. For some bewildering reason, the Mooch believes that if he just stands 5ft back and let's the opponent shoot the open J, his fro will be enough intimidation to force the miss:confused:

I'm sorry, but a man who advocates Marcus Fizer and Dan Langhi over Kenny Thomas (Mr. 19 rebounds) and Terrence Morris is not going to convince me he really understands "no defense = no chance !!!"

    such heypocrasy!!!

No offense equals no chance. With alittle more offense the rockets easily win this game.
