Y'all hear about this? They're apparently not going to serve booze at the Jets-Bungles game this Sunday. They fear drunk Jet fan tearing the seats out of the stadium. Seriously. http://www.cnn.com/2010/LIVING/01/01/jets.booze.ban/index.html http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...-sell-alcohol-in-last-game-at-giants-stadium/
I've found that at NFL games on the East coast, people tend to act more animalistic and ridiculous than anything you'd ever see at Reliant or the Astrodome. A lot more just pure binge drinking for the sake of drinking - sort of like a college game atmosphere but with construction workers from staten island instead of college students.
They have non alcoholic sections at Yankee Stadium and also Shea Stadium. It makes the experience better and more family friendly.
I've never seen drunk people act more idiotic than I have at Reliant stadium during a Texans game. I can't even imagine what it must be like with fans of teams like the Giants/Eagles/etc.
Other fans at NFL games annoy me constantly. I just want to sit there in peace and enjoy the game and some intoxicated morons with minimal football knowledge will inevitably start screaming at each other.
Considering that fans at the last game at Veterans' Stadium game ripped out seats its not like such precautions aren't without good reason.
Years ago, I went to an MNF jets-titans game at Giants Stadiumwith a crew of idiot friends - the crew of idiot friends was working under the false assumption that no beer was going to be sold at the game as a precaution due to it being a Monday Night game. So as a consequence one dude smuggled a bottle of bourbon into the game by sticking it down his pants. Of course, we get to the game and find out that beer is being sold as per usual. We buy beers. The dude with the bourbon in his pants (who is already quite drunk, since he did shots beforehand just in case) forgets about it, and as we are getting into our seats, it falls out of his pants and smashes onto the ground, much to the annoyance of the family with children sitting right in front. So in closing - there's a reason for these rules.
I don't necessary disagree, Sam. I just know and went to school with a bunch of New Yorkers. Drinking and watching sports is as natural to them as breathing so that's kind of funny to me.
this is one of pet peeves at Rockets games i literally had someone behind me thought David Andersen was Chris Anderson, he also thought the Suns really wanted to get Sasha Pavlovic/Ben Wallace rather than getting rid of Shaq, they didn't even know both didnt play a freaking min for the Suns
