So now we know, thanks to John Wall, that Stone is the one telling the coach who to play. Totally explains the Nix phenomenon. Shame on weaka$& Silas for being a puppet to the puppeteer Stone. Throwing games is disgraceful and the NBA should take action against these clowns.
Were you saying the same thing when the warriors did this? Or the rockets in the 80s? Or any of the other dozens of teams?
I mean most tanking teams bench their veterans(Gordon) and play the younger guys mins even if they’re undeserved. Rockets are so dysfunctional that they limit the younger players minutes and play the likes of Nix and Gordon more minutes. I don’t recall another team using this strategy.
Like.. Wow... I get the anger, but data! 85% of minutes played for Houston are by players 22 and under (ie the youth) There is literally no other team in the NBA even remotely close. 50% is 2nd place. I am not defending anyone. I get irked by 'bad whinges'
What are your assumptions behind the statements? Why do we even believe John Wall when he claims he was told to win with Patten and Tate and Nwaba and 'some other guy' Who was 'other guy'? Harden, Tucker, Wood, Cousins, House ?? He is seeing what he wants to see... He seems right about the club wanting to lose and play young guys. They moved all those dudes on eventually - and would gladly have moved Wall on if he had bet on himself. I also think it has little to do with Nix being fat and slow and looking lazy on the court....

No team in the NBA plays the youngest players more minutes than the Rockets and I dare you to find a team in NBA history that did it more than us. We're doing what we should be doing. We tried Nix and then relegated him to 2nd/3rd string. We gave him more time than a competitive team would give him. Damned if you do, damned if you don't on this board.
if you are so desperate to win by cheating why dont you just collect a lot of money and straight bribe the refs or buy yourself a real championship ring from e bay sold by unsolvent former nba champions?
Not playing the youngsters more is what irks me. Gordon and nix shouldnt b having this much mins while tyty and jc get close to nil on a tanking team. Nothing to lose to play tyty mins to see what he's got at pg.
Not the same. His contract is guaranteed. Msor employees pay aren’t guaranteed. Silas is jeopardizing his future for Silas. He won’t get another gig jsut becaue of his last name
I don’t have a problem with doing it, I have a problem with telling your players. Maybe it’s wrong, but I take the approach that you pass off ideas from the top as if you support it whether you do or not. If I get a directive from my boss, I don’t go to the people who work for me and say “this is a terrible idea, but we’re going to do it because Mr. X says so.” I make sure I understand the rationale behind the directive and try to sell the people I am relaying it to on that idea. That’s how you keep everyone working toward the same goal. This just shows poor leadership from Silas, in my opinion.
Yes but look at the big picture man. Overall we play our youngsters more than anyone in the entire NBA. There are posters and coaches and GM's who would play vets way more often. It's a balancing act. There's some subjective differences of opinion here and there on who should and shouldn't play, but overall we're playing the youngsters the most and that's amazing. It's great to get 90% of what you want from someone else making a decision.
What else do some of you need to finally accept "The Tank" ??? I get the impression clues could fall out of the sky, splat on your face and start wriggling around and some of you guys would still be confused. It didnt take these comments to understand whats going on.
Agree 100%. Nobody on this board would have an issue at this point if we started TyTy (instead of Nix) and KMJ (over Gordon) on a regular basis. Playing Sengun more and giving regular time to Christopher. At least the tanking would become valuable playing experience for these kids. Why sign and play D. Schroder 28 minutes a game last year over the youth. This team is frustratingly incompetent!
