I spent many a weekend standing in lines and trying to get one.

Finally, I did....at a Toys-R-Us, and only because the people in front of me left because they thought they were out. I got the last one.

Try Sam's or Costco. Call them and ask when their shipment of Wii's arrive, and then ask them when you need to get there. They'll usually give you the scoop.

 

You should have gotten up at 4:30am last Friday and stood in line. I got mine 90 minutes later and left Gamestop. People got there as late as 5:30am and still got one. Now, it's a complete free for all.

 

The scarcity of Wii is by far the strongest indicator of the failing US economy. And I blame that on Bush.

who said you have to "get up"...i stayed up all night drinking last december when i got mine.

 

I got one from Craig's List last year... about $50-75 over retail, which was a great deal at the time. Met the person inside a Randall's so I'd be safe. Turned out to be a UT student with his hot girlfriend, which made me feel a bit silly, until I realized they were just as relieved as I was that neither one of us looked like we'd lifted it.

Good luck! My kids were shocked. Made for a great Christmas. I spent the whole time up to December 25th acting like I was desperately looking for one and was filled with gloom and doom. I had them totally fooled.

I stood in line all night to get one at launch for RefGal's son.

Don't blame all of us because you don't love your kids enough to stand in a cold line in the middle of the night for a Wii.
