I took this from a European site, so there aren't any USD amounts here and I'm too lazy to put them in myself. Basically, Nintendo made a lot of money. :)

I can post some software sales, software/hardware ratios (per region), and hardware sales per region if people are interested. Or I could just post a link to a little PDF file at Nintendo's web site. ;)

Good news. I'm glad Nintendo is being rewarded with profits from the Wii. Instead of just following industry trends and focusing on more pixels, more explosions, Nintendo has focused on user interface and the "fun" factor, and it's paying off.

65-year-old retirees at my church are getting together to have weekly Wii parties. How many of those folks would be playing XBox or PS3? Nintendo has tapped into a video game audience that has been neglected since the days of the Atari: full grown adults.

Xbox 360 is addressing us old gamers by Xbox arcade. The ability to play Street Fighter 2 Turbo online and having games where you can see realtime leaderboards for such games as Dig Dug is great. Also you can play mutliplayer DOOM on xbox live. I know Wii allows you to download old Genesis and SNES games, which is cool.

    Its about the old school.

thats pretty cool. I've read a few articles of hospitals using them in rehab for certain people.

But its good to see a new and risky idea succeed, rather than the same old thing with a faster processor and sharper graphics.
