My favorite Thanksgiving football game ever. Dallas Cowboys, Miami Dolphins, snow, Leon Lett...My mom....oh, my poor mom, bless her heart... Thankfully, turkey grease and gravy isn't THAT difficult to remove from a TV screen...
my favorite too! certainly the most memorable. my brother-in-law is a big cowboy fan and was with us that day...he wasn't real happy about that...my dad, brother and i were jumping around laughing.
That was my favorite Thanksgiving ever. Nine single waiters and bartenders gathering at our hostess' house...her Mom came into Nashville to make us all Thanksgiving dinner....and ALL OF US hated the Cowboys. Snow games rule.
I can remember back in 1980 (I was 9 at the time) watching the Thanksgiving Day games with my family...and I distinctly remember the Lions/Bears game going into overtime. The Lions won the flip and naturally chose to receive the ball. The Bears kicked off to David Williams, who, proceeded to return the ball 95 yards for a touchdown and the win. It took 21 seconds off the clock which is still the fastest end to an overtime. As exciting as that was...I don't think it tops Leon Lett and his brain fart. I do not like the Cowboys and that made my Thanksgiving Day that much better.
I'm a Cowboys fan, and even though they lost that game, it was still fun to watch. At least they won the Super Bowl that year to make up for it.
Not anymore. Jets beat the Bills this year in OT on a Chad Morton 95 yd kickoff return to start overtime. It took 14 seconds.
