I expect that this kid will get way to arogant, and forget work ethics, and he will probably not develop into a great player.

Maybe I get jealous easily but it pisses me off because I was much better then this kid when I was 9. When I was little I always played my heart out too because at the time of my infancy I always thought there were scouts at my little league games ready to sign me haha

But man I was way better this then kid, I avged 3 goals a game for 4 straight years and an assist. No matter who we played, in all the tournaments I always drove us to victory

    Similar story to yours.....

When I was 8, I averaged 5 goals a game, and then about 3 goals a game all the way up until I was 13......

When I got to high school, I wanted to play Soccer, and got recruited to play for the Baytown Saints....the local club team, since Baytown Lee did not have a soccer team.

So, I played in 2 games, scored 5 goals and 2 assists and then quit.......because I was the only player on the entire team who spoke English, everyone else spoke spanish....

I really wish I would have stuck it out, because at 5'9" I was not going to star in football or B-ball....

Keep in mind I am 42, and quit playing in 1978.......ironically the year after I graduated High School...1982.....they got a soccer team.

    FRICKEN timing !!!

He kinda reminds me of Steve Francis.. except they don't have a 24 second shot clock. He's gonna be a bust.

I don't know why teams would ever invest in someone that's still very young. It might just be that the league he plays in sucks and he's just a slightly better than average kid.

If I were the other teams.. I'd sell the kid drugs as soon as he hits puberty and make him a drug attic and watch his football career down the drain.

I was just about to call him a HOG, but look at how much he passes it.

That "averaged n number of goals a game" sh*t ya'll are talking about is just a figure of speech, right? Ya'll didn't have your mom or dad keeping score in your games, right? C'mon, now... being kids... don't take it THAT seriously... do you?

I have always been a stats guy, baseball, basketball, football, soccer....so yeah, it is accurate.

I scored so much because I was faster than almost everyone I played against......

My dribbling skills were good, but not great, I could just changed direction and outrun everyone.

One game I had 8 goals in the first half, and my coach pulled me and put me in as keeper because the other team was complaining.

    I coulda been a contender !!!!

The funny thing is that just because you are good as a kid does not mean you will be good as an adult, I have a good friend who was AMAZING as a Pop Warner RB, but by High school he was no big deal.

Some things translate, but not always.

You got switched to a keeper?? Was he trying to teach you a lesson by showing you how it feels to be a goalie and being scored on? What a weird idea..

Why not just put you on defense?

He didn't want me running ahead and scoring any more goals.....when you are 8, there is not so much concept of staying in position as a wing or a defender.

If he put me on defense, I would have moved forward !

    :D

And, I didn't give up any goals......we won 12-3, it was 10-3 at the half.

This is only a big deal due to youTube. Manchester United sign thirty 9 year olds every year to play on their U-10 team.
