NIN is coming to Houston on May 24! I can't wait, they are top of my list of bands I wanna see that I haven't. They are playing the Verizon, which will just be insane. http://www.pollstar.com/tour/search...ent=nine+inch+nails&go_green.x=0&go_green.y=0 Tickets go on sale this friday
Did Trent release a new record? Wasn't it supposed to be named Bleedthrough? edit: Just discovered... The new record is called "With Teeth" and the new single from it is called "The hand that feeds". With Teeth is scheduled to be released tomorrow. -- droxford
No....With Teeth will be released on May 3rd. I am a HUGE nails fan.... Yesterday was the presale for the Houston show, but I was unable to get tickets.....they were all gone within a minute. Supposedly only 10% of the tickets were released though, so hopefully I'll have better luck on Friday. I'm planning to go to the Houston show and then drive up to Austin the next day to see them. Three of the tracks from With Teeth have already leaked. It is certainly a different sound, but I love it.
Yeah...that b*stard really likes to take his time. It took him 6 years, but he's finally gotten around to putting out a new album. Recent interviews though make it sound like there are quite a few leftover tracks, that will be used on a new album in the near future. I'm hoping for something like Radiohead's Kid A / Amnesiac releases where they came out in a short span. The new album won't be nearly as layered as the Fragile was. It's a lot more stripped down.
I've been a huge fan of nin for a long time - well.. just about since the beginning. Unfortunately, right about the time that The fragile came out, my life got really busy in other areas and I haven't been able to obsess myself with Trent's music as much. I went to Downward spiral at the summit AND went to the nin performance at Numbers that year (very limited seating, of course). Used to have many bootlegs of live performances, rarities and other stuff. Might still have them around the house somewhere. I'm now wondering if I will try to go to his show. I don't really like to spend money as much as I used to. I don't stay up as late as I used to. I don't like music as loud as I used to.... hell. Am I getting old, or what? -- droxford
This is the best news I have heard all day, I didn't even know they were coming out with a new CD. And the concert, oh boy, count me in there!
I went to the Halloween night show (I think it was '95) at the Summit. The Jim Rome Sideshow Circus performed between the opening act and NIN. Great show. I used to have an import CD with that concert (from the Summit), but an ex-roommate stole it when she moved out.
Liked (and still listen to even now) his first album. Haven't much liked anything else he's done since, besides the soundtrack to Natural Born Killers.
I think you mean the Jim Rose Circus Sideshow. Jim Rome is short enough and obnoxious enough to be in a circus. I really haven't been a NIN fan since the Broken & Fixed albums came out. I didn't like Downward Spiral and haven't really listened to them since.
I wouldn't call myself a diehard NIN fan but certain songs I love playing over and over; Closer, Somewhat Damaged, The Wretched, No You Don't, Starf*ckers, Hurt. I'll try to make this show. I always wondered if NIN fans are likely Radiohead fans also. They seem to go hand in hand.
Anybody have any luck getting tickets to this show? It sold out insanely fast. I showed up at Foleys at 3:00 and was the first person in line. Tickets went on sale at 5:00, and I was able to get the 5 tickets I needed. By the time the person behind me tried to get some, it was already sold out. I was also able to score 2 tickets to the Austin show by some stroke of luck. Those are going for nearly $400/pair on ebay! . If I wasn't such a big fan that would be mighty tempting .
I was able to get 4 floor tix online, we must of gotten lucky floor tix are already up on eBay for $100+ each!
I heard on the radio that the concert sold out in less than two minutes. Tickets went on sale at 5:00 and were sold out before 5:02. Looks like I'm not going. -- droxford
