Woo Hoo! My lifelong dream came true! My wife, son and I were selected to be a Nielsen Family...they sent us little journals to chronicle our television consumption starting this Thursday through the next Thursday. Pretty cool!
My family did that once when I was a kid. It's cool. My Dad always wanted to skew everything by having sports on the TV all the time!
I was selected last year...it really isnt as exciting as you'd think..its mostly a pain in the ass to keep up with those journals.....
my favorite show, Ed, isn't on during the offseason. but there is a space to make comments about shows that weren't on during the week that you would ordinarily watch. rest assured, Ed will be getting big ups from the MadMax crib! (did i just say "ups" and "crib"?)
We were a Nielsen 'family' a couple of years back...But there was no book...There was this gadget attached to the top of the TV, and you had to use a remote to say who was watching...like there were 6 of us, so one was Viewer 1, etc.. They were very nice...they sent us a gift pack when we signed up, another at Christmas, paid us per month, and also would pay 1/2 of any repairs and/or new tv during the year.
that's cool...apparently we didn't make it to that cut! i think it's because we're not in a new season of shows...only reruns in the summer. that's just my guess. and it's only for one week.
