Nice to see Kevin Willis is doing his best to kill any title hopes for the Spurs

I missed the majority of this game until the overtime, so I did not catch this until just now.

I just realized Kevin Willis was ejected in the 2nd quarter for throwing an elbow. Keep in mind that I am the biggest Willis basher on this board because his incredibly horrible play killed the Rockets in the 97 and 98 playoffs. I will never forget that.

Remember in 97 when Willis's constant complaining and dirty play against Seattle and Utah caused the refs to put a bullseye on him, making him totally suck???and killing any Rockets chances of success against Utah????

Well, I extremely LOVE the fact that Willis has ALREADY resorted to dirty tactics for the Spurs. Man, ISN"T THIS GREAT!!!!

When Willis signed with the Spurs, I truly believed that move would prevent the Spurs from winning a championship. And I find it completely awesome that Willis is already doing his best to prevent the Spurs from winning in the playoffs.

Willis is the main reason the Spurs aren't winning Jack SQUAT!

We should all be thankful that Willis is no longer in a Rockets uniform.

    Duncan missed his free throws.
Willis was not the reason they lost:rolleyes:

Remember you said you did not see the game until overtime so how do you even know kevin willis meant to hit him in the adams apple.

You're right. Willis was not the reason they lost this game.

In a way, Willis being ejected was an advantage to the Spurs because that meant he (and his ineffectiveness and momentum killing skills) could not be used in the second half vs Phoenix.

    And the Spurs STILL lost!

Willis isn't bad enough to prevent the Spurs from beating Phoenix in the first round. But wait until the second or third round, when he will become a key reason the Spurs don't win.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say you don't like Kevin Willis, am I reading you right?:p I agree about his play for us against Utah. There were times when I would just yell at him through the tv to SHUT THE HELL UP! It was obvious it wasn't helping, but he just kept doing it. It was infurriating to say the least.

Well, Willis got suspended for a game, so I expect the Spurs to romp in Game 2.

Can someone tell me why Willis only got suspended ONE game for that vicious elbow in which he turned, looked at the guy and then threw the elbow and while a few years ago Juwan Howard's "hard foul" on Derek Anderson got him multiple games? I mean Anderson was up in the air and fell wrong, I give you that and the "end result" was a seperated shoulder but the foul "itself" was not really that bad. And contrast that with Willis' foul the other night in which he "intentionally" looked at the guy and threw a vicious elbow at someone's neck/face and yet only gets ONE game? What the hell!?!?

I am assuming your post is "tongue in cheek". But with Willis out and Robinson having back problems, the Spurs might be out 2 big men in game 2. So, Willis' fould might actually hurt the Spurs more than they know. But then again, Duncan is a great guy to have to lean on.

That's just the way it is.

If you insulted me, dissed my mom, and then punched me in the face, but all I end up with is a scratched nose cause you hit like a sissy, I don't think you'd be in as much trouble as if you accidentally backed your car into me as I was standing in my yard and ended up paralyzed.

I know that isn't the greatest analogy, but it is a magnified example of how the end result does effect the punishment. A flagrant foul in the NBA does not necessarily require intent, but just the outcome, to be considered flagrant.

The barking comes naturally, but how in the world did he actually
reach a person's throat with his elbow?...

Does he have an elbow, or does he kind of paint them on?

Kim, I agree with you. That that is indeed the case in the NBA. To the NBA it is not the ACTION that gets you the suspension/fine it is the END RESULT.

And THAT is what I have a problem with!

To me it should be more about the ACTION then the result. Intent is the key.
