Stick that where the sun don't shine Jack labellers, what a game by Mobley, surely one his best ever. If he played team ball like this every night, I would gladly retract my criticisms. Let's hope this is a new beginning and not an aberition. DaDakota ------------------ If you like RTS games, check out this one. www.frontierwars.com coming soon to a PC near you.
Don't blame Smeg, DaDakota... it's not his fault. This is how he thinks Mobley plays every night. ------------------ NOTHING BUT .NET CLUTCHCITY.NET
This is somewhat similar to how he does play every night. No, he doesn't always have these statlines, but his value and importance to this team go so far beyond what you give him credit for. Also, last time I checked, the ball was in Mobley's hands tonight on most possessions in those final 4 minutes when we were down 6. The final score shows the results. ------------------ "We're not settling for just getting in the playoffs." "We want a higher seed. There's no doubt. Well i may be a dumb fan from DownUnder, but at least I know how to read, cause where did i say he played liked this every night, just praising his good game tonight. If i believed everything Clutch said I would think Mobley has never played a good game and always stinks, especially after individual turnovers or missed shots. TheCat, True, he really shines against those lower echelon teams. Now if he could just do this against Phoenix, or Portland, or Utah, or Saturday agains San Antonio, then your argument would have some more validity. I just liked the fact that he was all business tonight. Alot of times he will get into arguing with the refs, and that will throw off his game, but tonight he just played, and we saw the results. No question one of his best games ever, but I find it funny that every time Cat has a good game, people feel obligated to come out and demand Cat bashers pay their respect to him. I love Cat to death, but you can't tell me you don't get frustrated with him, and often times alot more than others on this team. Cat played a flawless game today, and has definitely has proven to me, and should prove to all the doubters, that he is definitely a go to guy. What we saw tonight was Cuttino doing, was him taking advantage of the situations. He commands a double team so often, that if he keeps his head up, he will get EASY assists to our big men. How about Cato? That man is getting some Carlosisms in him, that way he's been cutting to the basket. Off subject, but MOOCH is the man. When has this guy not hit the big shot? He hit the game winner in Golden State, the shot against the pacers, and the shot tonight from the baseline. That's 3-3. ------------------ [This message has been edited by tacoma park legend (edited March 15, 2001).]
I think it already does. Let's go take a look at some of Cat's numbers against these top teams. 10-31 vs. Twolves 33 points, 5 reb, 2 steals 11-04 vs. Suns 27 points, 5 reb, 9-15 shooting 11-28 vs. Kings 21 points, 8 reb 12-30 vs. Mavs 24 points, 6-11 shooting 1-1 vs. Twolves 30 points 1-24 vs. Sixers 22 points, 7 reb 2-3 vs. Spurs 28 points, 5 assists, 5 reb 2-7 vs. Sixers 23 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, 5 steals 3-11 vs. Suns 21 points, 7 reb No, obviously he can't play vs. those top teams can he? ------------------ "We're not settling for just getting in the playoffs." Tacoma, it almost seems like Rudy has turned Mooch into the Cat of last year and Sam I am of the past, with instant offense off the bench. ------------------ "Repression never did me any harm (I finally ceased to include "stop masturbating" as one of my guilt ridden New Year's resolutions, but that's a different topic)." True, but that's not the point. The point is that he can play just as well against the top teams as the ones like the Nets. And if Steve is obviously the "leader" of this team like so many of you proclaim him to be, then those losses would be just as much due to Francis as they are to Cuttino. I don't see anyone claiming Steve can't play against the top teams... ------------------ "We're not settling for just getting in the playoffs." "We want a higher seed. There's no doubt. Cuttino was more under control tonight. He wasn't as erractic as he can tend to be. When Francis went down, the Rockets looked like they were losing it, but Cuttino kept them righ there. I wish Mobley would play with that type of control all the time and not force it. ------------------
Yea Smegg, Moochie is that type of player.Just goes to show you what a good coach rudy is. He's made a CBA, sleeping disorder nobody, into one of the best backup pointguards in the league. Don't you just love this guy's confidence? Strutting down the court after each big shot. I love it. The cat Cuttino still hasn't proven to me he can show up against the top teams on a consistent basis. People don't say that about Steve because he has shown up ,for the most part ,against the big teams. Against New York, Philly, Phoenix, Utah, and Portland to an extent he has shown up. That's not really a knock on Cat, but more of a testiment to the great defensive 2 guards on those teams like Russell and Christie. ------------------ [This message has been edited by tacoma park legend (edited March 15, 2001).]
If you guys weren't impressed by Cat tonight, then you've been spoiled for too long by Clyde, Charles, Hakeem, Sammie, etc. As TheFreak likes to point out, these guys are just about to complete their first full year of rebuilding. Their first full year. If any detractors can honestly say that they expected this level of play, then you're lying. This team is winning, which is alot more fun to watch than watching Francis get TOs and get banged around for the first 5 years on a loosing squad... which he'd exactly do if Cat wasn't on the team. ------------------ (===)
TheCat, Not the POINT? That is precisely THE POINT !!! It is all about winning, I am sure I could waste my time and find some games where he stunk it up against good teams too, but my point is that we are talking about him being a GO TO guy, someone that leads the team to wins. Wins....THAT IS ALL THAT MATTERS !!!!! By the way, Steve has the same problem, I think both he and Cat get a little nervous late in big games, they don't have that total confidence that it takes to win the close big ones yet. They are getting a lot closer though...it could be any day. Maybe Saturday against the Spurs? Actually, I think Cuttino has definitely toned it down in the past month or so and become a serious baller... and as a result, I think he's become a better team player. His passes are better, and he seems much more aware of everybody on the court. Even though I sometimes question his judgment, he definitely gets my respect for his recent play. ------------------
