I guess this is the first non-gag news thread I have ever started in a while... For those who cared about the NHL (if you really hated hockey, then why on earth are you seeing this thread in the first place?), this is the place to talk about, the floodgates have officially opened after a game of attrition where sellers were asking too much in return. Now the prices have come down as the deadline looms at 3:00ET tomorrow and we are starting to see some player acquisitions at reasonable prices. Edmonton Oilers have acquired Dwayne Roloson from the Minnesota Wild for two picks (a first rounder and another depending on Roloson's performance in the playoffs) [source: http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=157671&hubname=nhl ] So, who do you think is next to be traded?
canucks need another goalie. i wouldn't mind trading bertuzzi while his selling price is high (he's not a playoff performer)...maybe trade bertuzzi and a draft pick for luongo or something. not sure...maybe bert for a decent goalie and a defensive prospect.
Bertuzzi has high value? I don't think so... Unless some miracle happens (imagine Ottawa giving Zdeno Chara in return), other teams are only willing to offer young prospects plus their third or fourth d-man for him... Anyways, the floodgates have really opened, with the latest being Jose Theodore (goalie, Montreal Canadiens) heading to Colorado for goalie David Aebischer Other trades that happened since this morning: The New York Islanders have traded Mark Parrish and Brent Sopel to the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for Denis Grebeshkov, Jeff Tambellini and a conditional third round pick. The Toronto Maple Leafs have acquired defenceman Luke Richardson from the Columbus Blue Jackets for a fifth round pick and conditional fourth round pick. The New York Rangers have traded forward Ville Nieminen to the San Jose Sharks for a third-round pick in the 2006 NHL Draft (wouldn't it be nice if Nieminen teams up with Ruutu on a line).
